Even more credence to the fact that life comes above everything.

Stay strong, Brett!

All of us know Brett was never going to be a regular player in the NHL and a career AHLer at best until his heart stopped beating.

Best of luck Brett and use the money you got in hockey wisely.

If we already know that whats the point of saying that unless its to kick him on the way out.

I wish him the best of luck and a complete recovery.

Hell of a good hockey player with a ton of amazing accomplishments in his young career. Terrible news that his NHL dreams had to end so suddenly, but he still has his entire life in front of him, and thank god for that. I do hope his new goals of continuing to make a career in sports are accomplished.

I feel really bad for the kid. I think his best hockey was still ahead of him. Still, he got to wear a couple NHL jerseys and that's a far larger accomplishment than most. Thank God his illness only cost him a chance at a hockey career and not his life. Best of luck in the future Mac!

Is Brett the first/only player to play for the "old jets" and the new thrashers?
