Only time will tell.
Not to mention he got ran over by a freight train that game before 2 of those goals if I remember right.

Of course he's going to say the diplomatic thing. Watch those goals, they are unstoppable because his own defencemen tipped them past him. It's ridiculous to expect him to save those.

You do remember correctly. He was plowed into by a Canadian defenceman and a Russian forward who were battling in the crease. Definitely a mitigating factor for why he might not have been at his sharpest afterward.

I don't think Wedgewood is overhyped. I think he's just the most realistic chance we have right now at having a goaltender out of our system be the goaltender of the future.

Kinkaid might have a chance too, but I don't see Frazee. I would never guarantee Frazee not playing anywhere in the NHL or even never playing for us. He'd probably be the first up if we had an injury. I just don't think he'll be a main stay goaltender for us. Plenty of goaltenders that are atrocious get starts in the NHL.

Remember that Isles goalie a couple years ago that got a few games? Not that padwall bozo that shut us out, and not Poulin. Some other guy, and he was absolute **** in the shootout, and the couple games he played.

Who's padwall? Anders Nilsson maybe?

Yeah is that his name?

Obligatory video.

The one I was talking about though was some guy from maybe 2 years ago? It was when people wanted us to get the good draft pick right around the time we started winning with Lemaire. I remember Devils fans rooting for the Isles to win so we could stay in the basement, but the goaltender that night was a complete statue! Just a good example of a bad goalie getting NHL ice time. We weren't playing them in the game I'm talking about. I forget who the Isles were playing.

Actually I was saying I thought Nilsson may have been the guy from the shootout whose name you couldn't remember. I wasn't sure who you meant by padwall, but those should have been separate thoughts.

I remember that game with the shootout though. Whoever that goalie was went 0-3 in the shootout and barely flinched each time, unless I'm thinking of a different game. They were playing another Atlantic team, right?

Here's every Islanders goalie to see if any ring a bell: http://www.goaliesarchive.com/islanders/index.html

It was actually Nathan Lawson. The shootout was against the Coyotes. He looked like Yann Danis in the shootout he played for us haha. I found footage from it, and I feel bad for laughing at him. The guy looked miserable, and had no confidence in that shootout. He broke his stick on the post after the 3rd goal. I actually found one against Ottawa where he stopped 2 of 3 in the shootout that same year. One of them was against our very own Bobby Butler.

Anyway reason for bringing him up was that a lot of bad goalies make it to the NHL. Not saying Frazee is bad. Just saying I won't count him out of playing an NHL game. Just don't think he'll be our starter.

Either that or back to the OHL.

And it looks like we called that one.

I don't think Wedgewood will get a chance to play in the AHL until Frazee is dumped. Of course this is not taking into account an injury in either Albany or with the Devils with one of our goaltenders.

Only other scenario is a monumental collapse for Frazee, or Kinkaid. I'd still suspect the leash will be shorter for Frazee than Kinkaid.

I didn't know he had the option to go back to the OHL. If he can do that, I'd be fine with that. If Lou wants him to develop in a professional league, however, the ECHL might be the best place for him.

I'd much rather him be in the ECHL, so he's eligible to play in the AHL if necessary. I'm not sure if that's possible (or more difficult) if he's back with Plymouth.

Albany roster predictions?

Pesonen-Henrique-Butler
Tedenby-Josefson-Parse
Wohlberg-Zalewski-Sislo
Hoeffel-Sestito-Wiseman/Anderson

I think Whitney might get sent down to the ECHL, he's a top-six guy and there's no room for him now.

The AHL transaction page shows that Tom Sestito (Tim's brother, Flyers property) was added to the Albany roster.

http://theahl.com/stats/player.php?id=1910

I guess that's a mistake?

Yeah, he even Tweeted that he was flying to England to join his team, so I guess someone with the AHL confused Tim and Tom when they were updating the transaction page.

Anyone know where they stream Albany games?

I'm hoping with the demand, someone does it so I don't have to pay for games....

I'm ok with making him earn his way up the ranks. I hope he impresses in the ECHL and forces them to find room for him at the higher level.
