Winnipeg Jets 2012-13 Season Simulation

Okay, so I'll sim a season. I don't have a way to record the PS3, so we'll stick with stats for now. I simmed through the pre-season, and I will now sim games on game day. The pre-season in NHL 13 was not the same as real life, so I skipped over it. We did manage to go 3-1-0 though.

Season Stats

Forwards/Defencemen
Player Pos. GP G A Points +/- PIM S S%
Nik Antropov C 1 1 2 3 +3 0 1 100.0
Zach Bogosian D 1 0 0 0 +3 0 2 0.0
Alex Burmistrov C 1 1 2 3 +2 0 3 33.3
Dustin Byfuglien D 0 0 0 0 +3 2 1 0.0
Grant Clitsome D 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0.0
Patrice Cormier C 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0.0
Toby Enstrom D 1 0 2 2 +2 0 4 0.0
Ron Hainsey D 1 1 0 1 +1 0 5 20.0
Olli Jokinen C 1 0 1 1 +1 0 3 0.0
Evander Kane LW 1 0 0 0 +1 0 7 0.0
Andrew Ladd LW 1 1 0 1 +1 0 4 25.0
Bryan Little C 1 0 2 2 +1 2 3 0.0
Spencer Machacek RW 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 0.0
Antti Miettinen RW 1 0 1 1 +1 0 3 0.0
Alexei Ponikarovsky LW 1 1 0 1 +2 0 4 25.0
Paul Postma D 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 0.0
Mark Scheifele C 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 0.0
Jim Slater C 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0.0
Mark Stuart D 1 0 1 1 +1 0 0 0.0
Chris Thorburn RW 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0.0
Kyle Wellwood C 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 0.0
Blake Wheeler RW 1 1 0 1 +2 0 3 33.3

Goalies
GoalieGPGSMINGAAWLOTSOSAGASVSV%
Ondrej Pavelec11602.001000752730.973
Al Montoya0000.0000000000.000

Okay, now for the lines. I messed around for a bit. I'd like Scheifele to play at least a few games again this year so I threw him in ont he 4th line with Stomachache.

If you guys want to change anything, let me know. We're all the GM's!

All regular season games will be simmed through on game day and I will post results and stats and all that fun stuff. If the CPU offers a trade, I'll post it here and we can discuss and accept/decline.

If I can come up with a way to record the games, I'll post highlights or maybe even put up full games sometimes. We'll see.

Because we're weak at RW? And I liked Antropov with Ponikarovsky and Wheeler with Jokinen. I'm not even close to a coach or a GM and I did whatever I wanted.

I can see that

But seriously, they look fine with what options you have available

IMO the lines are not how they should be in real life...... BUT a video game is different place.
So I'm fine....for the most part.

My thoughts:
I think Stuart's overall is too high and Enstrom's is too low.
I think Hainsey is better on second pairing than Stuart.
I'd put Thor in the press box videogame or real life.

No matter what, you won't get people to agree.

Out of curiosity:
Do you like putting players on their offwings? Burmi tends to play RW when on wing and Poni tends to play LW.

EA have Miettinen as the 2nd line winger? That can't be right and he's for sure not a 79 anymore if Little is an 82, needs to be more of a difference there. He's also not better than Burmistrov or Wellwood and Scheifele at 70 is pretty low. I know prospects should be rater lower there but he should be 72-73 based on that scale. Byfuglien can't be an 87 if Enstrom is an 81....should be Byfuglien 84 Enstrom 86 or 87. At least they haven't underrated Bogosian but Hainsey an 83....

Yes, a lot of the ratings are off. But if I change rankings for the Jets then I need to change them for every team and I don't want to do that.

Garret, so it'd be Hainsey-Bogo and Stuart-Postma? That sounds good actually. And I can switch up Poni and Burmi if need be, I just went with what they were listed as in the game.

Good point about the rankings. You are right. To correct the Jets would mean you should correct everyone else (which my brothers actually do on their XBox version... they have no lives other than playing hockey, working out and video-games ahaha)

frankly I don't care! The fun is all in speculation and video-games so I don't think you need to change anything
Do as you wish and I'll enjoy this all the same!

It would make the pairings as Noel seems to do them... plus I hear Postma is soft; he needs Stu but as you wish

If we wanted to be more realistic, sure. Haha. Who would we call up in his place?

this is excellent, I will be checking in how the Jets are doing regularly.

Hopes for the season:
-Acquire Selanne
-Evander Kane 50g
-Pick that underachieving Ovechkin guy up on waivers

I concur. Then again, I bet none of the other teams will have "injuries" to start the fake season. Maybe fake Bogo has a miraculous recovery over the summer?

More "realistic" also means not simulating the games because the players are locked out just sayin.
