Seems to be the way of the world these days. I worked as a co-op and as a contracted employee before I was hire full-time by my current employer; and this is for a Fortune 500 company that's not afraid to spend money. Stick with it and it'll be more than worth it, if just to know that you'll be in with a company or team that has a solid future.

Living with Yankees fans is terrible. I live with three of them. Not one of them watched any of the game before they saw Ibanez hit the first home run. Now they're talking trash about the Phillies.

My wife was born and raised in NYC and went to elementary and high school in the Bronx. She was a die-hard Yankee fan (legitimately--attended probably 150 games) until we met. I've since convinced her of the evil of her ways, and she has been appropriately reprogrammed. She's now actively angry at them--but her mother never adjusted, and tends to call whenever she thinks something "good" happened.

I guess I can expect a lovely chat tomorrow morning.

Also, does anyone remember who Shane Victorino gunned out in July of 2008 to save Brad Lidge's perfect season?

He charged a solid hit ball in shallow center as the man on third broke for home and threw an absolute strike to end the game. I can't find video of it anywhere.

I believe it was the 6-6-2008 game and not july..

Escobar hits a single to the outfield and scores Josh Anderson. Gregor blanco tries to get home to tie the game and he was gunned out

Edit : I found the Phillies yearbook video and that's the one.. I'll see if I can upload it

Why the hate on Raul? He was a class act here and he always has been anywhere. He may be the only Yankee I've ever liked. I would've brought him back on a 1 year deal considering the dreck they played in LF last season. Good for him.

I'm sure it's more anger about where the Phillies are (or aren't) right now. I always like Raul, but clearly their was always a resentment that he never produced at a clip that justified his salary. Not his fault.

True, I understand. Never understood why people got pissed at a player for signing a massive contract. Raul may not have shocked the world, but he did put up some really good numbers here until he pulled his groin. The rest was pretty respectable IMO.

Again, I didn't say it was good. I'm looking at his tenure as a whole. I would say he could've still been better than our LF platoon if brought back at cheap. But hey, we'll never know.
