Just picked up his first goal. Also has a primary assist.
Hearing a great game from him tonight.
This is good riddance for Jones, getting the monkey off his back could give him a huge boost of confidence and get his play on the right track(offensively). Maybe we might see some dominance now.
Also, his defensive game has never been question, it's his offense that needs to translate, and hopefully we will see that now.
On a side note, the Blades have been playing some awful hockey lately. Just two wins so far?
What does that have to do with anything, this is the Seth Jones thread. Besides, at least they've narrowed down the deficits from what was happening earlier in the season, lol.
He was a monster last night. Never got hit all night, so smooth starting the transition game, hit a cross-bar and a post, scored a nice goal and took home 3rd star. Was fantastic to see him do it all live.

Very jealous. Went to see him the night before in Regina and he was mostly unnoticeable, but pretty solid defensively. Was hoping to see a breakout game but looks like I was a day early.

Yeah I watched that game against the Pats too and he was definitely solid, but unspectacular. Was a man-child on the PK that game, though.
Agreed and those people just skim over posts, because I am strictly talking about playing styles only and no word of potential talent.
Jones is much more cerebral. Johnson relies heavily on his physical gifts and is more assertive, almost to a fault. Jones on the other hand controls play with his vision/intelligence first, physical gifts second. He's not quite as assertive or aggressive physically, but has the same tools for the most part.
Seth Jones is no doubt a generational talent in my mind, he is basically a perfect defenseman.. Very lucky the team that will draft him..
Seth Jones is not a generational talent, he is a very good talent who can And likely will become a elite player in my eyes, but to be generational he needs to be superior by quite the margin of his peers and I dont see that, the next generational player will see will be Connor McDavid i think.
Generational? I agree that he is a special defenseman, but generational?
I see a Drew Doughty in the making.... So an elite #1.
Generational: (for me... just a few)
Lidstrom
Orr
Bourque
Potvin
Robinson
Stevens
Chelios
Lidstrom and Chelios were both drafted outside the first round, showing how hard it is to judge defensemen at 18 years old. He has all the measurables to be a generational talent but you will never know until he hits the NHL and has to make decisions at that pace. The funny thing is when all is said and done, he might not go top 4 this year with the excellent forwards available.
Yeah I don't think I see the EJ comparisons as I agree that Johnson relies much more on his physical abilities where Seth relies much more on his elite hockey sense.

Absolutely agree with you... I wasn't trying to say he couldn't develop into that. I've seen "generational" tag line handed out on these boards far to often... No one can predict the future. We just have to wait and see.
I wouldn't be surprised to see McDavid being called/labeled generational... With what he has shown already, that might be appropriate.
