I wonder if it's better for Grigorenko just to stay in junior the entire year(assuming there is an NHL season) and dominate. It gives him a chance to work on more aspects of his game and he can come into next season with more confidence.

I think this is one of the reasons the 2005-2006 Sabres were surprisingly good was because the younger guys had an extra year in Rochester to develop their game.

That was the best that I could come up with, too.

I'm confused about them calling him a powerforward.

So does this mean only grigs is still coming? Since armia is our 2nd highest rated prospect...

Unless they're swooning for Girgensons, yeah. Pronman had Girgensons at 2, and Armia at 3 in HP's rankings, so you never know.

I would be suprised seeing as HF only gave him a 7.5 C

I dont think that their are more than 5 better prospects in the world right now that Grigorenko that are drafted.

A 6'3" center with Grigorenko's skill set is extremly rare, his potential may be as high as anybodys in the last 3 drafts, its up to him how good he wants to be.

7.5C is a load of crap. 8.5C seems more likely.

A Habs fan wrote that article, its basically one persons opinion on our set of prospects. He was definitely bias against our team. I Mean Hertl in San Jose got a 8.0C and was drafted in the 20s and expected to go in the 30s!! Quite hilarious.

That's why I stopped paying attention to them. They're a joke. They should have the entire HFboards "staff" that deals with ratings get together and agree on a rating so that they're objective and accurate.

As a Habs fan, I feel a bit upset about your comment.

Armia > 8.0C
Girgensons > 8.0B
Foligno > 7.5B

Head coach Mike Eaves on McCabe:
Quote:
Question: Will Jake McCabe play this weekend?

Eaves: Yes.

Question: You saw Jake kind of really develop in the second half last year, didn't you?

Eaves: Well, we saw him develop, but we saw him blossom in that series against Denver. It was amazing that the pro teams that were out there and watched him, they're the ones that really thought highly of him as he entered the draft. It was tough to get a real read on Jake because of his injury early in the year, but in that series, he blossomed under the kind of potential that this young man would hopefully be able to provide for us and maybe at the next level.

Nice job on the Armia video. You can see he's talented and he has speed and was more physical than I thought but he also had a lot of turnovers.

Grigs= 8.5C
Armia=8.0C
Girgs= 7.5C
Foligno= 7.5C
Pysyk=7.5C
McNabb=7.5C
JGL=7.5C

Was not meant to be a shot at Habs fans, was just saying the reasoning behind such low prospect grades in comparison to other teams.

This is close to what I'd do in terms of ratings. Ones I would change maybe:
McNabb 7.0B
JGL 7.0C
Foligno 7.0B

Regehr did a list of likely top 30 candidates and Girgensons seems unlikely to crack the top 20 now that 21-50 are known.

I really don't get the Armia hype. The guy can't even score a PPG in a lesser league and people hype him up like he is going to be an elite player. Just watching him play, he doesn't strike me as anything more than a complimentary player. What is getting you guys so high on him?

What? A "lesser league?" Compared to the NHL, sure, but compared to the CHL?

I don't think you understand the difference between playing against fully-grown professional hockey players and playing against young men at a similar developmental stage.

Yeah. He's 19, playing in a professional league, and putting up solid numbers. It's not like he's playing in England or something.
