Looks like Paddy Moran was the right choice in the first round.

Thanks for the good series Hedberg - you put together a very strong team (again!).

In 50 years, Mike Green will be looked at much more favourably than he is right now.

The guy is an absolute stud offensively. He's the only 2 x 1st All-Star in the MLD. He's so bad in the play-offs that he's only managed to put up 29 points in 50 games. He's so bad that he's top-10 in playoff scoring among Dmen over tha last 5 years.
He was also pretty solid defensively in playing 23:45 per game in the 2012 playoffs for Dale Hunter's defensive-minded team.

I think part of the reason Green looked so bad on occasion in previous playoffs was that Washington's run and gun team didn't give him any support. Coffey was at his best in the playoffs when he had defensively responsible Jari Kurri to cover for him and clutch goaltending from Grant Fuhr to back him up. Washington didn't have any forwards like that and their goaltending has been a revolving door.

Moran doesn't belong here. It's a big advantage.

which makes it all the more puzzling that I lost to LF in the MLD11 finals with Tom Barrasso as my goalie!

Donít read too much into that. Two votes was all it took to be the #3/4 star of the series.

That's still 2 too many, isn't it?

I'm with TDMM on this one - I have no idea what makes him one of the best or most important players in this series. Maybe those who voted from him could come change my mind.

Congrats Dreakmur and TDMM . I knew pretty instantly looking at the rosters I had no hope (when the only advantage a team has is a better top line centre, it's over ) and I'm quite surprised my team made it to game 7.

Speaking of this, I just remembered something over the weekend!

I was the guy collecing votes in MLD11 for the all-star teams, as well as for the standings for the other division.

I fully expected Barrasso to be the #1 goalie in voting. And the voting was showing that. However, Konovalenko was pretty consistently ranked #2 in the votes, which meant he was keeping pace with Barrasso fairly well.

Then I received a vote that put Konovalenko at #1 and left Barrasso off the ballot entirely. I really badly wanted to call out this horrible vote, either privately or publicly, but had to bite my tongue as it is not proper to do so. People can vote as they wish and you can't make them feel otherwise.

this vote vaulted Konovalenko ahead of Barrasso in goalie all-star voting, and actually, right to the lofty position of MLD MVP!

and the person who cast that vote was..... Zamboni Mania.
