also regarding Kerdiles i don't think he should go to CHL because NCAA is corrupt, i think he should go there because it will do him better career wise.
also i am not trying to say the CHL>NCAA, i just think in his case, get out of NCAA and play, if they want to act this way then just go to CHL and play some hockey you'll be better off.
also also gophers play by play guy is ****ing awesome. start tweeting russo to take him when he gets back to NHL coverage next season
also also also John the Cake Eater Dreager is pretty good, he's making some good plays good hope for him
Thank you Gophers for that lovely hockey fix. Desperately needed it. The only sad part about it was listening to the new tv crew and knowing the crap that we're gonna have to listen to when watching the Wild.
Draeger looked pretty good. I can't say I saw anything to complain about with him. Great that he finished +1 in a 5-1 loss.
I thought he looked a little tentative in the first (which makes sense for his college debut) but for the most part was impressed with Draeger. Michigan State used him in all situations, looked good with Jake Chelios and ended up being the only MSU defenseman to finish with a positive +/-.
Also really liked the Haula goal. God damn that was beautiful.

Marshall looks like the player that Aaron Ness was supposed to be but never materialized into.
Don't like Isackson on the top line. Doesn't really fit and doesn't provide much of his own. Not too sure the Gophers have a better fit though, perhaps Boyd who did look good last night.
Given the way the defensemen looked, I'd say Holl isn't long for this team without a significant injury or two early. The Blackhawks will get him out of there. Not a huge loss, though, as there's no reason for him to be playing above anyone who was on the ice last night.

Forgive me for being out of the loop since I have not been able to see more than a few games the past two seasons.
I was able to watch last night's game.
How was Schmidt not drafted? I guess a few games is not the best indicator but the games I saw last year and the game I saw last night leaves me to be extremely impressed with his skating, passing, and awareness. Is he soft? Is he not good defensively?
I liked pretty much everything I saw last night but I really liked Schmidt and Boyd.

you can't sign as a free agent with the Wild if you are drafted

It would probably end up being Ambroz if not Isackson. Boyd can play the wing but he's a better center. Unless Bjugstad gets injured (which saw Boyd in the first line role last year to less than stellar results against Wisconsin) he's not moving up there.
Also think Boyd and Condon work well together and give Minnesota three balanced lines that can score.
Nothing to complain about last night, just shear dominance. Isacksson on the top line is a work in progress, but i'm willing to give him time, definitely nice shot on the 3rd goal. Let's hope the Gophers don't let that go to their heads and have a soft performance tonight like they did so many times last year always playing poorly on Friday's.
