Chicago obtains the 2nd line Center that they have been looking for and Calgary gets a decent young player on D. You guys can argue what the value of the pick should be, but I think that this is a pretty fair deal moving forward for both teams.
Cammaleri at centre, isnt an upgrade over Sharp being in that spot. i doubt the Blackhawks trade one of their main D-men (whose really young) and a pick to add another wing/centre tweener to try and fill the #2 spot behind Toews

Cammalleri has 425 points in 562 games.
Sharp has 385 points in 567 games.
Cammalleri is much better at playing C than Sharp is in my opinion and having them play on the same line could create fireworks if they create chemistry.
I'd say no from a Flames perspective. We just got Cammalleri, and we should probably wait and see how he does as our top center. Without him, our depth at center would be so ridiculously bad.
And we also just got Wideman. Why would we need Leddy?

i politely disagree. i feel that Cammalleri is more of a perimeter player than Sharp and that he relies on his shot and ability to get open to create offense. IMO that skillset is better set for the wing
My thoughts on the trade itself are mixed. However, I do like the idea of exploring the acquisition of a top 6 winger to free up Sharp to play center (preferably a RH shot).
I like the deal from a player perspective. Calgary doesn't really need Leddy right now though, our lack of depth at center is really bad and losing Cammy would make it even worse. Good offer though.

He played Wing for us because we have awesome Center depth. He was outstanding the first two years and disgusting the last one. But on the Flames, who have poor C depth he was their first Center. He's suited for both. Very versatile player. He's one of the best player when it counts also.

Ah okay. I wasn't aware of this, also I don't know if hawks would want this for their solution to the center though tbh.
Holy **** no! Cammy is a 60-70 player who has scored at a ppg when with Iggy last Leddy is a good #4 we don't need a #4 defenseman.
Ok... That was 4 years ago... Since then Cam has averaged out at a 57 point pace per 82 game season, and he hasn't been able to stay healthy for more than 67 games on top of that. I like Cam, but how is he a 70 point player anymore? He hasn't scored or even been on pace for 60 points in 4 years.

include his playoff numbers and it's a different story. He also played on offensively inept teams. How is he supposed to rack up assists playing with guys who aren't scoring.
