Nothing on the Swedish papers. Granted, they're all busy gushing over Zlatan and his overpaid pals beating the Faroe Islands 2-1 in some soccer game.

It would be an interesting choice for Backstrom considering the gooning up by Seguin and his line going after Backstrom every whistle.

I really hope its not true, I would rather him play with Ovechkin...

Does anyone know how much players are being paid overseas? Is it enough to offset the dollars lost in their NHL contracts?

Nope, not in FEL at least. I think it's pocket money compared to their NHL contracts. Maybe something for guys making less than mil but not much. Best players in FEL get low 6 figures in a year, good juniors get little less than 100 000.

Make that lifetime for me

Oh wait..

That sucks!

But on a more serious note, KHL probably gives a good money, so players are pretty close there.

So which leagues have an NHL out clause if the lockout ends?

And did a KHL team sign all the enforcers to beat the crap out of that team with all the enforcers?

Depends... E.g. Jagr plays for free, Plekanec plays for 1 czech crown (= 5 american cents). But I guess not even the best lockout contracts aren't as high as NHL contracts.

Every NHL player can return once the lockout ends. Even Cody Franson, who technically isn't signed.

And I think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who's getting his NHL salary playing in Europe.

I guess a bunch of the KHL players might be close to their NHL net income at least, right?
Other than that, it's pocket change for everyone I'd say.

Well, Ovechkin had a tough time getting (I forget the number, 65 or 75%) what he was asking Dynamo and CSKA for, so I can't imagine the other guys are getting their full salary either.

Perhaps they get a big bonus if they don't return to North America, however.

hopefully the "not that bad" part of this mafia kicks the crap out of the KAC today...GO GRABS GO!
its funny how controversal their speaks and actions are

I love the game of Myers, its awesome that he comes over but I`d see him better not here than in Klagenfurt

Salzburg seems to be the next team to bring a guy in, several sources don`t even talk about rumors anymore. no name said but pretty much sure to be done the next 1 or 2 weeks

Highlight video of all the NHL players currently playing in Switzerland. The uploader included Damien Brunner for some reason, even though he hasn't played one minute in the NHL so far.

Video's viewable in Switzerland only, at least that's what I think the message says.
