According to these polls the Habs have one of the best top Defenders in the game, one of the best offensive d man in the game. A top 5 goalie. A top 10 first line. Why did they finish with the 3rd worst record in the league? Someone enlighten me please.

Seids, God knows what would of happened if he didn't protect Corvo's **** last season.
Also our best player in the Washington series. Him and Chara almost won us that series single handedly, and won us the cup last year. Pretty sure Seids was 3rd or 4th in Conn Smythe voting behind Krejci and maybe Chara. His offensive game isn't terrific by ANY means necessary, but his defensive game hasn't been too far behind Chara for the past two years.
Seidenberg has been great in the playoffs lately, but can someone explain to me why he's getting this many votes this early when he wasn't even matched up against tough competition this past season?

The first line was their only line, their top scorer was out for half the year, league-high amount of injuries(400+), league-high amount of shoot-out losses(12), other than Subban and Gorges their D was swiss cheese, terrible trades, media circus around the coaching change. The list goes on and on.
But what does any of this have to do with Gorges being a great defensive defenseman?
As I'm not in a position to analyze the defensive strength of every defensemen on the league, I rely on what posters here say on who I should add next. Karlsson's name came up, so I added him.
