I've been the lone voice on hf for two years saying Lindberg isn't a defensive forward. I have also wondered why he's gotten that label. Maybe the fact he's not been able to secure a top 6 spot on a stacked lineup?

How do you know what the Canes cap situation or ownership status will be 3+ years from now? Who knows if the other 3 Staals will even still be on the Canes then, let alone in the league. A lot can happen between now and then...I'm not even going to worry about it for a few years. The reality is the odds are greater that he remains a Ranger than he becomes a Cane.

Oscar with 1g 0a in 2-1 Skelleftea win over Farejstad (Andersson's team).

Andersson didn't get much playing time despite Klefbom being injured. Sucks as he was on the 4th unit. Would rather have him in game action.

Fasth scoreless again.

Don't forget how competitive the Staal brothers are. I think they enjoy going head to head with one another... Plus there's no telling what the state of the Carolina franchise will be like, especially in relation to the Rangers. If the Rangers are still a top-notch team in the league and the Canes are still a mediocre team, do you really think Marc will be likely to flee NY where he is comfortable with the organization and the coaching staff as well as his teammates?

I dont know if you've been the lone voice
Three years ago, I was the lone voice on this board, back when Adam Pettersson was ranked high in the draft rankings and I was trying to convince people that Petterssons teammate Lindberg had way higher potential. My ranting had little effect on the draft rankings, however it turned out I was right about Lindberg

For those interested and dying for some hockey, Fogarty and ND are playing on NBCSN at 7:30 and Michael St. Croix and the Edmonton Oil Kings are on NHL Network at 7:30. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Well here is an open question posed to followers of Swedish hockey (especially Ola, whose informative, even if generally negative assessments are always good to read)--why is Fasth considered to be such a better offensive prospect than Lindberg.

Keep in mind that I know very little about either prospect outside of what I have read here on hf and the occasional highlight clip so I'm asking out of genuine curiosity.

Did anybody mention that Nieves had two assists last night? Both primary too.

Skjei in the starting lineup tonight. Gotta be cool for him.

I remember when Jordan Staal was traded, he said that he didn't know if Marc was going to join them in the future because he liked New York.

Skjei just picked up his first collegiate point. Secondary assist on a Rau goal.

EDIT - Skjei getting some PP time, looks great out there moving the puck and letting a few slappers go. Overall he just looks extremely comfortable, and is easily one of the better skaters on the ice. Playing physical too. No sign of Freshman jitters.

Skjei just scored his first NCAA goal. Nice. What a fine game he had.

Swayze, do you know where I can find a score sheet (mainly for TOI) for college hockey games instead of that GameTracker thing?

Skjei's goal was a thing of beauty, just uploaded it (sorry for the crappy quality):

Great shot. He used his skating to lead the initial rush too which I made sure to grab.

EDIT - DANGIT! Beaten to the punch by RangerBoy! Should have expected that haha.

Unfortunately there are not a ton of great options. This best is probably this:

http://www.collegehockeynews.com/sch...scoreboard.php

But it is a little delayed. For Hockey East, hockeyeastonline.com has live box scores.

I barely knew anything about Skjei when we drafted him, but when I read about him I immediately loved the pick.

A player with his size, hockey smarts and skating ability is bound to turn into something. So excited to see this kid in Blue someday. And he has a one-timer apparently, something our defense group, as good as it is, has never heard of.
