Anyone know how to get around the Puck Rakers thing after 10 articles read without paying for it? It's stupid I have to pay to use an online blog.. I want to read the Davidson update.

Should the CBJ hire Davidson? Yes, Yes, a thousand times yes
This would go a long way to bringing come credibility to this organEYEzation and in my mind, heal the wounds left by the lockout, however long it would last

I have seen this multiple times, and it only seems to be CBJ fans that do this, what is the origin to this?
Hi guys. Been a while since I have been on the old boards.
Anyway, this may be common knowledge, but Davidson and Jeff Rimer are best buddies. In our lone play-off year, I was chatting with Rims at one of the training camp practice sessions and Rims went on and on about Davidson, and their long friendship.
Paid off for me. Rimer got me two free lower bowl tickets to a Blues v Jackets game in St. Louis from Davidson that year.
Anyway, I hope Rims is working hard behind the scenes to see that this gets done.

The thing about this is I'm sure Jeff had filled in John on the organization's and front office's inside story. Thus, Davidson taking the job might be a good sign of what JD thinks of it, or gets promised.
Seriously, it is a bow or a tip of the cap to our good friends north of the border who pronounce the word that way. No harm meant.
This. Except I no longer refer to the CBJ as that, but simply an organization. Until it is run properly, I will not pronounce it properly.

I haven't answered this poll yet, partly because I'm just not sure. On one hand he has to be better than Priest. On the other, that isn't a high bar and doesn't mean that he's actually the right guy. I see him as an opportunity to get rid of Howson, on the other I'm not convinced he's up to the hype.
No matter what you think of Rims as a play-by-play guy, he is well respected in the hockey community. He has been around this sport for a long, long time. Long before some of you were conceived.
And like Mathews, he is always willing to chat with the fans. Like I said, he got me freebies to a game in St. Louis, so he is top shelf as far as I am concerned.

Rimer is a blow hard name dropping suck up. Other than that he's a great guy. As far as "well respected" that really depends on who you are talking to in the hockey community. If you suck up to any team media guy at the local watering hole or some event long enough you are bound to get some free tickets. That isn't anything new, I've witnessed half a dozen times. I don't bother asking for free tickets, so I haven't gotten any myself. Gare gave out more and more tickets the drunker he got.
I'll be honest, I'm really nervous about anyone in hockey that is actually best buds with Rimer and not simply humoring him.

Like the guy said, he's been around the game for a while... you know how, like, if you know a person for a while, they can bring something valuable to a relationship? I don't care for Rimer as a commentator really, but I'm sure he has qualities that people in the hockey world, hell, people in general, would find endearing – every person has those qualities, and those people who like those qualities. He seems enthusiastic in the footage away from the booth that I've seen; he obviously loves what he does. You sound very crass.
