One of the highlights yesterday was Holzer squeezing the man against the boards in his own zone and effortlessly taking the puck and making a play with it.

Holzer would be a great improvement from Komisarek.
Everytime I catch a Marlies game he's steady. Good size, skates well, has some puck moving ability and seems solid defensively. From what I've seen of him (only like 10 games) he looks like a guy who could play in the league on a bottom pairing and do a effective job at a discount price.
Ill try to watch online, but give us a summary. thanks. Ill be missing about first half of the game since I have tutoring.
will do. would've done a write up for last night too but too many beers happened throughout the 1st and by the 2nd i couldn't really focus on anything in particular. this afternoon ill be more capable of forming coherent thoughts.
Agree with both your points here. But if this team is going to go far I think Ranger and Blacker are probably both going to have to play pretty big roles.
I would also really like to see what Ross can to do. This roster is just so deep though. Is he expected to be the first man in the lineup if someone gets injured or taken out of the lineup?
It would be nice if they could play big roles, but if the NHL is locked out all season they can rely on a top 4 of Gardiner, Holzer, Fraser and Kostka to play the big minutes. If Ranger turns out it would be great as he was never a part of the plan before a couple months ago, but we can't rely on a guy who hasn't played in 3 years to play a huge role on that team. Blacker showed last year that he struggled with his offensive game at the AHL level and wasn't penciled in for anything above the third pairing this year. It will be nice if he surprises, but as with Ranger it's unlikely that he is anything more than a third pairing player on this team right now.
