@MSavvy91: I need something to keep me busy because I'm losing my mind and since hockey is not in the near future for myself maybe Pete's gm? thoughts?
Um, Pete IS the GM so not sure what he means. Unless he thinks he should be the assistant GM (even though there is no vacancy there)?
I agree that him recovering is the #1 priority but if/assuming that can be managed I'd love for Savvy to stick around in the organization in some way in any case.
I'd say give his time to help others- he's got a tremendous amount of hockey experience and knowledge and also a tremendous amount of experience dealing with concussions and living through it. My first thought would be to get into coaching on any level and work with programs focused on safety in sports. There would be thousands of teams and millions of kids who would love to learn from him and maybe by helpIng them he would be helping himself. One of the worst parts of depression is the isolated feelings that it produces.
I bet Marc needs something to look forward to ...for himself. He seemed to love playing hockey. Maybe the B's could find some role for Savvy to fill with the team other than playing.
Spending time with his kids and recovering is important but he needs to know what he can do for his future. He is still fairly young
It seems he knows and has more or less accepted that playing NLH level hockey is no longer an option for him. . I would love to see that little ball of positive energy back with the B's .

People need to understand when someone is joking and not take things so seriously. Of course he's focused on recovering fully! He's probably as ticked off at these idiot owners as much as we all are. He's a fan now too
15 Posts and nobody has suggested he be the B's Power Play coach ?
He can't make it any worse than it has been.
There are several problems with that beyond the question of whether he can work as a coach for the Bruins and still draw his player salary.
- Being near his kids (and his parents) has obviously been important to him in his recovery, and he has said on Twitter that he has a girlfriend now. If he moves back to Boston, he loses that close support.
- Can he travel on a regular basis? It's a grueling schedule; is he healthy enough to deal with it?
- Coaching former teammates isn't easy. He wouldn't be "one of the guys" anymore, and he's reportedly still close to a lot of the Bruins players. Could he deal with that emotionally?
Just because he used to be a genius on the PP it doesn't mean he'd make our PP better as a coach.
Things like vision and instinct you cannot teach.
Gretzky wasn't a good coach either.
Gretzky said he found it easier to coach defensive situations because he had a good idea of what the offensive players would do or should do and how to counter act them. He found coaching offensive situations difficult because he relied on his instincts when he played and no one has that level of hockey IQ anymore.
Savy ran the PP like a genius, it’s something you can’t teach because his offensive instincts were off the charts good.

Agreed, he could thread a pass like a needle, you can't teach that.

you have 3 kids, a dog, a lot of coin, a partner, golf membership- soooooooo, if you are feeling mentally fine I think you have what most only can dream for.
if you have your health you have the most important base covered- the other three are well covered (you can always be a coach- Bruins PP could use some help)

Health is the big question for Savvy. He tweeted before this one that his headaches were back, and I think that spurs depression in him.
Here are some ideas:
1. Head up a charity - Savy has name recognition still so make a difference - maybe promote concussion awareness?
2. Wake up, eat breakfast with kids, send them off to school, golf, eat lunch at clubhouse, golf more, pick kids up. Go coach their teams.
3. Go fishing everyday
