This was my biggest concern with Matt going overseas.

Was it Samuelsson who yelled "Skabbhora!" (scabies-laden prostitute!) as well on the bench? Is that a typical Norrlandish expression?

Thanks! The commentators seemed to be really into the game compared to Mike Haynes.

That was a sick pass by Duchene, it makes up for that terrible turnover by him earlier.

Which is a shame, cuz he'll think he's mastered the move, and will be trying it when he's back in an Avalanche uni.

Apparantly he said to Brunnström afterwards something like "I do it all the time. That is my game".

We're going to need an intervention.

To be fair, he did go to the net without any fancy stuff a few times too so he didn't go full tornado on us.

Yea, here's quotes from the DP on Duchene's spin moves. Sounds like he's going to continue to rely on the moves that don't work in the NHL. I guess the best we can hope for is he gets better at timing them.

I like how he brags about doing it all the time, but leaves out how often it works.

Quote:
First appointed Viktor Stalberg 2-0 – then decided Fabian Brunnstrom after Matt Duchenes spinning workouts.

- It’s very neat. He said he does it all the time, says Brunnstrom after the victory.
Quote:
Duchene spun against the pass behind his back to Brunnstrom that set 4-3.

- It’s very nice, I do not know how many times he tried it today. I asked him after the game and he said: “It’s my game, I do it all the time,”

He said it in jest, though. You could see the conversation on the broadcast.

Pretty funny to see everyone overreacting to one play. I actually thought at first some were joking. Did everyone really expect Matt to change his game after when bad year? He would be stupid to completely change his game, that has been pretty successful so far in his career.

I do agree that he needs to tone it down and be smarter to know when to use it but to think he'll completely stop is pretty dumb imo.

I don't think I have ever seen Duchene do a spin pass before. Last year it was all spin and hold and look like a figure skater type stuff.

It's expected when Duchene is involved. He needs to pick his spots better but I hope he keeps doing it. It has always been a part of his game and the only reason he's getting criticized for it is because he had a rough season.

You must've been watching Steve Duchesne.

I know, I didn't mean to say he was bragging in the pejorative sense.

Here you go boys.

Frölunda and Duchene are playing against the best goalie in the league. Wesslau.

Nice spin pass from Duchene. I know he got a lot of heat from doing it without success last season, but I think that it was more a timing thing rather than it simply not working in the NHL.

Hopefully his confidence comes back playing in Sweden. thanks for the highlights
