Backstrom to play in Swiss.

Backstrom will play for EHC Biel (nla swiss). He will have on the same team Boston Bruin Tyler Seguin and former NHL Marc-Antoine Pouliot.

It didn't hit me much until I watched some of the Dynamo game that was on ESPN. Watching Ovi on the powerplay again, I just got the twinge of "dang, I want to see that again, soon."

Ovechkin an assist in a win.

Malkin with his 4th pointless game(not in a row) in a loss. Feels good.

Oh man EA you are too funny. Knuble is not only back on the Caps, but he is on the first line. Then to add to the hilarity, Knuble comes up the left wing and Ovechkin crashes the net.

Though the simulations seem like real possibilities, getting blown out by Ottawa and shut out by New Jersey based on last years performances.

Also, Ovechkin on ESPN 2 tomorrow, so you guys can record it or watch it.

Ovechkins assist, he is behind the net and makes a sick back handed pass, a secondary assist, but the major reason the goal was possible.

Is Ovechkin leading the league in goals and points?

Brooks Laich with two goal and an assist in a 4-1 win for his team Kloten against the current swiss-leader Genève (Logan Couture, Yannick Weber) yesterday.

Catchy music. Thanks for the highlights. Did the Swiss league only take NHL forwards? Sure looks like they need some Alzner D.

Marc Streit is in that video, but he looks awfully much like a forward in it.

Was it just me or was every one of Laich's goals a result of pretty mediocre goaltending?

NLA goal tending sucks, don't expect to hear it on HF Boards, because all the good Canadian boys going NLA therefore KHL goal tending sucks.

Streit really made that look easy. He really hooped that d man.

Rick Nash looked like he was a man among boys. The goal tenders maybe mediocre but some decent d would help.

I only hope that these babytime frolics don't get turn on "superstar" Laich, the one that thinks he can do anything.

No, the Swiss league also took some defense-man. Mark Streit, Roman Josi, Yannick Weber, Raphael Diaz, Luca Sbisa and Jared Spurgeon are also playing in the Swiss league. But yeah, some teams could definitively benefit from some Alzner D

NLA goalie situation has nothing to witch the good Canadian boys going in Switzerland, rather than in the KHL, or the love of HF Boards for the Canadian boys among the KHL The goalie situation in the NLA is related to the limitation of the foreign players on the ice. Only 4 foreign players are allowed on the ice (8 license for foreign players pro year for each team per season), so all team chose to go with swiss-goaltenders. And for a small country like Switzerland, it's clear that you can't find 12 goalies as good as Hiller. Even if the highlights don't really show it, there are still some good young goaltender in Switzerland, like Conz or Berra, who played great at the world junior level with Switzerland. The swiss league also produced some good goalie, like Martin Gerber, David Aebischer, Christobal Huet ( french guys, but developed in the Swiss league in Lugano), or Jonnas Hiller ! So, it think it's a combination of the foreign players limitation, the fact that the teams have only swiss-goaltenders, and terrible d sometimes that make the goalie situation in the NLA what it is.

PS: according to swiss-newspaper and the GM of Hc Bienne, Bäckström turned down their offer, so he will not play in Switzerland. They are also saying that Bäckström received a 3mio $ offer from the KHL.

Ovechkin 1 assist 3-2 OT loss, Dynamo 8 game winning streak over...

But it looks like there is bigger better news.

NVM lol. Next NHLPA offer will be 6 years of the same thing. People actually believe the NHLPA is going to negotiate?

Filip Forsberg scored his 7th goal of the season tonight (11 pts total in 12 games) and it was a beauty. He also seems to have watched Ovechkin celebrate
I hope the link works!

Around the 1:00-mark in the video. He's wearing #16 on the white team.

The two largest mass medias in Sweden are confirming that Bäckström will join Ovechkin in Dynamo Moscow for the lockout.

Cool, I was hoping they'd play together during the lockout. That said, hopefully they won't have too much more time together in Moscow.
