meh he has to learn to keep his head up. he was leveled a few times last season and his rookie year(more so) because he wasn't looking. i'm as worried as the next guy, but i think he'll be fine.

McDonagh played last night, was scoreless, but his team won 5-1.

Nash scored again (from Thornton) but Davos fell to Tavares' Bern 6-3.

mcdonagh led the team in ice time w/ 22:58. (pretty sure the game was this morning too if you're on the east coast maybe that's night time for them. no idea.) zero shots on goal and no assists from what i saw. looked like he played several 2 minute shifts while i was watching the time on ice update on the KHL site. great to see that they're digging him over there.

i'm glad nash is back in already.

Carl Hagelin was INSANE in his first game. I didnt see all of it, but during the parts I saw it was a slaughter. He is playing in the same league as Kopitar, Berglund, Landeskog, Murray, Matt Read and Co. But he has definitely so far had the most impressive effort.

I want a season...

Not to the extent Vityaz gets away with. Their owner is a boxer I believe. They are the worst team in the league I believe and their sole purpose is to attract fans for boxing match on ice. This is the same team that had their captain that famously did a homerun swing on an innocent player.

Obviously. Even so, look at past pedigree. This is something that happened only last yr.

Don't see anything wrong with Lindros. He may not live longer because of his head problems, but that was his choice with his brutal style of play. Hardly comparable. As for Boogaard, I don't think NHL doctors played a large part in his offseason pill-taking.

Cherapanov? I'm still overly bitter about that. Can't believe the time it took to get the local ambulance. I have never been more devastated following hockey. Makes me get all depressed thinking about it.
Ha ha, pleace don't listen to all roumers will ya?

You want small small stupid hockey market teams like PHX? This is the result (well combined with UNIONS).
The players dont want these small market teams, its the league that wants these small market teams because they are wanting to force the issue of expanding in the US and not losing markets in 7 or 8 of these teams. Either let them these teams die, relocate with same owners or new ones and try different places with maybe less teams OR players are going to have to make changes that decreases there pockets because a third of team owners simply cant afford the economics others owners can. the Jets seem to be doing fine,

throw a couple more teams in Canada, eliminate a a few teams and go from there, thats the long term solution. What we will do now is simply put a short term solutions on a long term problem of inability to profit in certain markets.

The kid was amazing since the second time he was brought up with the Rangers, hes got potential in my opinion to be more than a 30 point energy guy but a serious point production player and even a star.

McDonagh has a primary (and the only) assist on Nik Antropov's goal. also, i know he's no longer in the system, but Zuccarello is currently playing on a line with Nikolai Kulemin and, well, Evgeni Malkin.

edit: make that 2 assists for Mr. McDonagh.

Lundqvist not to play with Frolunda (yet)

Per @hlundqvist30: I have made the decision not to join Frolunda at this time. Still waiting to see what's going to happen with the lockout..

Don't the Rangers still own his rights? So technically he is in the system.

Yes, they gave him a qualifying offer this offseason, so they retain his RFA rights. If he wants to play in the NHL again he'll either have to play with the Rangers, or sign an offer sheet and the Rangers will get compensation or a chance to match.

Not sure if the Rangers have to do something to keep his RFA rights if he stays overseas for years

Makes the most sense. If a deal can be worked out from the latest proposal, he'd likely spend ten days in Frolunda at most.

word. my fault, then. i figured since he signed a 2 year overseas, it's kind of fuzzy if he's coming back or not (imo, anyway).

how long do we retain his rights for?

It's doubtful he'd come back. He can make very good money over there, playing a big role and scoring a lot of points.

I think we retain his NHL rights indefinitely.

. According to ESPN New York, Zuccarello signed a one-year deal with the KHL's Mettalurg Magnitogorsk. The deal includes a one-year option for the 2013-2014 KHL season, and an NHL "out" clause, which gives Zuccarello the option of returning to the Rangers as a restricted free agent.
