Draft Watch 2013

This thread is for general discussion about the 2013 NFL Draft, ranging from early top 10 rankings of players, to observations of players during college games, or likely needs of NFL teams. Pretty much, the stuff that doesn't quite fit in the NCAA or NFL GDTs but is perfect draft discussion fodder.

Perhaps you should put draft in the title.

The Bills should go QB or LB in the 1st round.

Not happening. He just signed that 7 year $62M with $24M guaranteed contract not even a year ago, late last October... not to mention it had a $10M signing bonus.

Vikings need a WR who can get open down the field. Hunter/Woods/Wilson/Allen in 2013!

Geno Smith is the best QB in the class imo.

This is ridiculously deep DT and DE class. Pretty strong CB class too. The OT's are hit and miss, and I think it lacks a stud LT a la Kalil. Interior line class is strong though.

It's a good draft, and a team like the Rams could really bolster their squad if they pick well.

This draft is one of the better defensive drafts in a long time. Jones, Mingo, Lotulelei, Montgomery, Hankins, Werner, Banks, and Te'o all have star potential

I'm not a huge Mingo fan. I'm surprised you didn't list Damontre Moore from Texas A&M. I think he has the potential to be the best pass rusher in this class. Lining up as a 4-3 DE this year and having success.

Geno Smith I think proved this weekend that he isn't the best QB coming out....I don't think its a paticularily strong QB class.

It's not. Tyler Wilson out of Arkansas could actually be the best QB in this class.

The thing with Geno Smith is that I don't really trust Air Raid system QB's. He got exposed big time against a team with a good D. In the NFL I can't see him being that guy.

If Bray comes out, he's the best NFL prospect at QB.

He needs to stay at least one more year.

Agreed. Just saying he'd be the best in a bad class. If he stays another year and gets things together, he could be the top pick next year in a top heavy QB class with Bridgewater and himself.

How strong is the MLB prospects in this draft?

Bears really have to draft a MLB at this point

Te'o is the best, far and away. Ogletree will stay, but if he doesn't he'd slide in around where the Bears would pick.

Assuming the Bears pick in the bottom of the draft, I could see Tyler Eifert, Jake Matthews, Barrett Jones, and Taylor Lewan being options right now. Te'o will probably be top 15, but I want him so bad.

Eh one bad game shouldn't knock him off the top imo. Especially against the top pass rated D.

Agreed it's not a strong QB class coming out, but I like Geno over the rest.

So which QB are the Eagles going to take to compete with Foles for the starting job next year? There's really no QBs that I see with star potential in this draft, since I'm not as high on Smith as most.

$10M is nothing in the NFL. I'm under the impression that his contract is rather easy to get out of.

I don't know about that, he has all of the physical tools but he seems like a headcase and isn't a very good leader.
