Well, that list is not 100% accurate. There are more than 5 players if we go by draft year. Bäckström is another example that had a late birthday and was drafted the year after his 18th birthday.

Edit: AE beat me to it.

He's in with some great company so far. If you only look at guys drafted from the 90s onwards, it's even more impressive:

Robert Nilsson is the only bust, all the rest became major stars in the NHL.

Tomorrow's the big day, you'll see how Lindholm not being able to do anything if he is facing Barkov all day erry day. By the way solid game overall by Lindholm today, few minor mistakes but that was solely because lack of experience playing against men.

Do you think he projects as a center or winger at the NHL level?

Haven't really seen him a lot, but he should be great at either position because of his hockey sense.

Center is his natural position and his playmaking is probably more valuable there than on the wing.

So basically you could say that he's been relegated to wing temporarily because of Jarnkrok? That if Jarnkrok comes to NA next season and Lindholm doesn't, he'd go back to center?

I think it's only fair that Detroit get him, since Jarnkrok is his cousin.

Comparing draft year is a bit flawed since Lindholms (who has a late birthday) stats is from a year after the stats of Forsberg and Näslund for example. If all these players was born 94, both Forsberg and Naslund would have better than a ppg season in the SEL this season. And Forsberg and Naslund would just be a bit over 4 month older than Lindholm.

Forsberg had 27 points in 39 games while being a few months older than Lindholm, this was during his second season in the SEL (I'm counting this as Linholms first season, he was the 13th forward in the majority of games last season). Naslund scored a very impressive 40 points in 39 games in his second SEL-season while being a few months older than Lindholm is now.

Lindholm is definitely up there number-wise but it's not fair to compare him to those players after his first 10 games of the season.

Yeah, that's correct. I jumped to the 48 point season by mistake. Naslund was at ppg though.

Lindholm playing with fellow youngsters Molin and Lindgren(his first men's game ever?) tonight in the European Trophy. On paper they're the second line.

Anyone's got a stream? It seems impossible to get a hold of european trophy streams and I don't think the game's on swedish tv.

Nope and I doubt they will show anything until the playoffs. It's one of the big reasons it's hard to take the tournament seriously.
