Sorry, but I don't see how I have "less of a right" to complain about the labor wars. Yes, I put money into the NHL. Just like I put money into the NFL and MLB -- because I am sports fan. The other leagues seem to handle labor issues with minimal consequences, yet the NHL is on verge of losing it's 2nd full season in 8 years which is unprecedented. The NFL has a bigger revenue pool than the NHL will ever have, yet they seem to handle the situation with timelines and responsibility. The NFL has lost a total of 0 regular season games due to lockouts or strikes. They don't take advantage of the fans, like the NHL does.
My putting money into the NHL has nothing to do with the two sides acting like children and causing a stalemate because it would happen regardless. It is the nature of what has become the poorest managed league in professional sports.
Well, first off, I think the notion that you need to go to games, snatch up merchandise, etc is what makes one a "die-hard fan" is ridiculous.
More importantly, I agree with nearly everything you said. I just dont see how continuing to pump money into a dysfunctional league will produce any of the change we all deem is necessary. Im under no illusion that Im part of some huge revolution - but it does make me feel better that my money isnt the source of these constant messes.
Something tells me question 18 carries more weight than others:
18. What is your family income before taxes? *This question is required.
LESS THAN $39,999
$40,000-$49,999
$50,000-$74,999

$100,000-$149,999
$150,000 OR MORE
This tweet is interesting. Its not cheap to open the arena for a game. They need to put the ice down. Why wait until November to play an AHL game? San Antonio is in the middle of home stand that week and they have no game scheduled for November 20. They are going to fly out the team from San Antonio to south Florida to play a game. Jet fuel is expensive these days. The other AHL will need to fly to south Florida. The Rangers are supposed to play FLA on November 21.
Tomorrow's meeting looks promising. Rumblings of a new NHLPA proposal is definitely something to booster my outlook on the lockout a little bit. We'll see how it goes. I can't take this much longer

I agree, I'm not saying that you have to spend money to be a die hard fan. I'm just saying I enjoy attending games.
And Im just saying that attending games is the key revenue stream for the NHL, and the key source of these arguments.
Other sports settle their labor issues quicker not because they care about the fans, but because they care about the money fans pump into the game. The NHL doesnt even seem to go that far.
Why is that?
I just happen to think a big reason why is because they think millions of people like you will be right back in their seats the second the game comes back.

If you want to abstain from putting money into the NHL for moral reasons, that's your business. I don't get condemning all others who can't/won't though.

I havent once condemned anyone else's stance on the issue - its their decision.
Its only my opinion that us fans won't see any change until the money they argue about every few years gets choked off.

Fascinating! #NHL learned that fans want them to play. Money well spent “@FrankLuntz: my official response: pic.twitter.com/k7od1lgN”
