One thing I found very odd, was once I got off 270 onto Broad St, I started seeing signs saying Casino Parking $10 No Wait for the parking lots in the old Westland Mall (which is now shutdown except for Sears). I figured they were going to be charging to park in the garage, but they didnt.....so I have no idea what that was about. But you definitely know what part of town you were in! I dont have any plans on going there on the weekends or at night.
Sounds like people were taking advantage of the casino's lack of marketing the fact that the casino's parking is free.

I rarely gamble, but I always eat, so I'll go check out the glitz and the restaurants.

Be careful when you go or you might be doing both.

I guess theyve also opened up a new COTA line from downtown to the casino. Ever driven Broad St from downtown to 270?? I wont be surprised at all when bad things start to happen down there. I was concerned about my excitement for it opening, but thats pretty much cooled down now.

The big casino here in Spokane is out on the desert plains. The parking is free, the drinks are free, the food is cheap and exquisite, and they don't make you feel unwelcome if you don't gamble. The seafood buffet is so good that we go as often as once per week.

The only issue with legalized gambling is that all of the bars and everything start to put up small casinos ... so, you have drunk people getting mad at losing their money at all hours of the day in all parts of town. Not sure how strict the gambling laws are there though - you guys may have it easier.

Free drinks is not legal inside any Ohio Casino, so that should help cut into that, I guess.

There are restrictions on it. The only one around here that offers free drinks is the big one - the rest of them don't give free drinks. Not sure what the reason for this is - maybe because it's on the Spokane Tribe reservation? At any rate, it keeps the drunkards from being able to mooch!

Awesome. I still have programs from every Chill season after 1993, including the commemorative final program given out at the last home game. I bought one of the last ones, and cherish it to this day.

Absolutely loved the Chill and their entire atmosphere, from Andyman announcing the starting lineups, to the pizza, to the blood bath brawls.

Well, I guess if you're afraid of completely empty and abandoned areas, sure.

The problem with that area isn't crime so much as it is completely abandoned. I suppose that looks scary, but the reality is different. I'd feel a lot better walking around that area than I would the near east side or hilltop.

Honestly though, the casino is it's own island. I won't worry about going there anytime.

The $25 table limits are what they'll be until it dies down. When we went to the VIP party, it was mostly $10 and $25 instead of $25 and $50. I've been there once after it opened to check it out with friends and really wasn't prepared to play at those limits, but I ended up playing black jack for an hour or so. Would rather play poker once they start some tournaments or the cash games settle in some. I have no real desire to play $30/60 on my own bankrolll :^)

Horrible. With two kids, my wife grew her hair out long and then let it continue to grow for each pregnancy. Supposedly the hormones from the pregnancy keep the hair healthier (?), and then once the kids were born she donated it. It's a great way to give to those who are suffering, without obligating you financially or in any other way. For the University to suspend this guy because of this is completely ridiculous. Incredulous. Preposterous.

It's high school, not university, not that it should make a difference. I thought these battles were fought and won in the '60s! Tight ***** never give up.

This morning, most channels were saying high winds expected around noon today and lasting till tomorrow night, along with rain.

It's supposed to snow tomorrow, or is it Wednesday? Can't remember.

I have family in West Virginia who are preparing for a Blizzard, and family in the Ohio Valley who are preparing for the river to flood again.

Mega props to Hollywood Casino for keeping my hard earned money in my own pockets with $25 minimum craps tables! Blackjack was down to $15 min, but I dont play blackjack. Theyve got no reason to drop the price on the craps table as the hood is more then happy to spend $25 min's
