This is so crap they meet for 2 days and not once talk about why there is a lockout.Never talk about the main crap that is holding this season from starting.

Do you really think they're not talking about "key issues" or just saying that to keep the media off their back?
Significant in roads were made today with the NHL and their new proposal. 50/50 split with no salary rollbacks. NHLPA has "10 days" to review it and give an answer. The deal also would save the 82 game season and would start on November 2nd. I think we have finally made the progress needed to get a NHL season under way.

im not going to hold my breath, but at least both sides are making an attempy for there to be hockey this season. I would be shocked if we had a 82 game schedule starting nov. 2. that is asking a lot IMO
You are going to have a lot of groin and lower body injuries if we compact the schedule that much.
Very curious to see what stuff is in this CBA regarding amnesty, contract regulations, and revenue sharing. As far as HRR split is concerned though, this should get it done.
Fehr: "Good news! The owners have agreed to treat you to ice cream sandwiches after every game."
Players: "Oh. That's neat. What progress have you made on the core economic issues?"
Fehr: "Don't be silly. We have many more things to discuss first. We must determine thread count for locker room towels and thermostat settings first. These are vital issues."
Players: "We think you and Bettman are afraid to discuss the money issues because neither wants the embarrassment of blinking first."

I don't think it contains anthing about amnesty buyouts. It was said the NHL also changed their stance on contracts also. NHL is actually making the sacrifices here this time, I didn't see this coming at all. No numbers after year one of 50/50, but I would think to not insult them again, it would stay pretty close to those numbers.
It seems like the some players are happy with the offer too, Josh Rimer tweeted about it.
As a bunch of people were saying before, it's a shame they've had to jump through all of these hoops just to get the numbers just about where all of us figured they would end up.
