I wonder how popular Stephen Harper would be in Quebec.

The thing is, we already knew that about his game. Everyone wanted to see him take that next step offensively this year and he's not doing it so far.

ISS is the same ranking that had Nikita Filatov ahead of Drew Doughty and Paajarvi ahead of Kane. Also had Galchenyuk 14th last year.

Take anything they publish with a massive grain of salt.

They were also very high on Bobby Sanguinetty and they got called out by (redline but i'm not sure) for having a top executive at ISS that was a family friend with Bobby Sanguinetty. Take their ranking with a huge grain of salt!

He could be our right wing defensive specialist playing a conservative game.

Saw him in Hull on Sunday - smart offensive player, but he has skating issues that will hinder him. A lot of his points come from Hudon's work on the PP.

BTW - TT, Boisvert and Bergy were all at the game Sunday to check up on Charlie.

I'm not sure if Cain Franson -Center-Vancouver Giants, was drafted last year.If not he will be 20 yrs. old March 25th 2013,he might be a good free agent signing.Cain has 6 goals and 1 assist in 9 games to start the season @ 6'1" and 167 lbs. he will be huge when he fills out to his brother Cody's size.In last year's playoffs for Van.Giants he had 5 goals and 2 assists in 6 games,he could be another good addition to Hamilton at center if Darryl Boyce signs somewhere else after Christmas.

The more I read about this draft, the more excited I am. I was sick of talking about drafts because of the roller coaster we just went through last season, but this year's even more exciting. I feel there's at least 10-15 very solid players coming out of that first round.

If the lock-out persists, I don't like our chances at drafting high. It could very well happen--that's the magic of the lottery--but based on the 2005 lottery, the Habs would have only one ball, meaning the odds of drafting in the top-10 are thin.

At the same time, if we have to have a low pick, better it to be in a draft like this than in a top-heavy one with little depth.

ISS doesn't even have Duclair, Domi or Fucale in their top 30 and I'd be happy with any of those guys (of course that could change from now until June). I don't know if that's an indicator of ISS being nutso or the draft being really deep, but I think we can get a good prospect no matter where we're picking.

I just noticed that. That also means that with our 3 2nd round picks, we WILL get some interesting prospects in the 2nd round.

Very, very exciting stuff.

So am I still biased for being against Duclair? Or is everyone starting to see what I see?

He would be a good fit for the Marlies and as a linemate for Kadri on the Leafs in 5-10 years.

He's hurt right now and they probably don't project him to be ready in 2 weeks.

Isn't he injured...i think stephane Leroux tweeted that he would have been selected on the team barring his injury

Eagle and I were texting about duclair being left out of the first round and we laughed about how vindicated you must have felt

The Habs are looking for depth at LW and the 2013 Entry Draft is loaded with good applicants;Drouin,Burakowsky,Carrier seem to me the best choices in the 1st round. In the 2nd round depth in top six;Gauthier,Mantha,Wennberg,Possler any of these players with the Habs three 2nd round picks. It's a long way off until the draft and who knows where the Habs will pick. But some really good French players available for a change and the Habs have 4 picks in the top 60.It will be 3-5 yrs. before the Habs draftees from 2013 will be paying dividends, for now all the fans can do is dream about the team that will be in 2014-2015.Hopefully they are perennial SC finalists by then and Galchenyuk and the 2013 draftees are leading the way.

Fucale is not in their top-30 because they do not include goalies in their October top-30. Given they label him as their no. 1 goalie in the text, one can conclude that they see him as a first round pick.

I have always thought that they massively underrate Q players. Unless I am wrong, they were the last scouting service to include Huberdeau in their first round projection in 2011 and there are many other instances of them underrating or underscouting the LHJMQ. At this point, I think Carrier and Duclair (even though I am not a fan of his) should be on a top-30 list somehow with Mantha being on the outside looking in due to his inconsistency.

Funny that if the draft goes to a lottery that Nashville's 2nd rounder will probably be more valuable than Calgary's.

He wasn't in their December 2010 top 30:

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article..._december2010/

he was 9th in March 2011: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article...ers_march2011/

They tend to often go for the wow factor, Tyler Biggs in the top 10 and such.

BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIASED..

No seriously.. There's no contest to me. He's not a top 10 pick. But he could be a good late one. You cannot disagree on that.
