True, i hope the fail of 149 and the even bigger flop of 151 will result in less cards, or more supercards and have the scrub fights on fx or whatever. An Ideal business model for the UFC would be 4 ppvs with 4 UFC on fox per year. the Fox card should be top name fighters recognized by most fans (hardcore and casual). The fox card should be littered with previews and hype for the PPV. Stack the PPV and Fox cards and make fans want to watch. overstauration will kill the casual fan. I feel like PPV's arent as big of a deal as they were even 2-3 years ago. We used to have UFC parties all the time but less and less people started showing up. you cant have get togethers every 2nd week.

Honestly Dana reminds me of Bettman. He wants Fox to work so badly that he'll do anything to get it to work even if it means hurting the sport as a whole. I also think the Fox cards could get away with headliners that include guys from the Ultimate fighter, because of the connection.

So jones can't fight until April and can't fight Dan Henderson because he's scheduled to fight on feb 2nd? To me that makes no sense. I think it must be to help out the ultimate fighter and they think having Chael and Jones as the coaches will help with its low ratings.

strikeforce will dissolve after the last january show. the only reason Zuffa kept the promotion on life support was because they were contractually obligated with showtime. The deal ends Dec 31st so they are finishing the last event on the contract and that is it.
the idea of having a cross over card is good but the talent pools just arent there to make it work. I would prefer if they had the 125/135/145 weighclasses some where else but thats more my preference.

I'm not sure anyone could tell that by what happened. He got absolutely rocked by a punch Le through from left field. His career is winding down for sure, I'm guessing he'll draw some other "legend" for his finale.

I'm assuming you mean teaching as a coach/trainer and not back in grade school. It is a little disrespectful to think Franklin should retire completely from MMA. He is one of the best and most consistent fighters that sport has ever had. Is he over the hill? Sure, but to say he should go back to teaching in school is going to far. Franklin is a greater martial artist than most people can ever dream to be. He will continue to coach and pass on his knowledge.

franklin got karma'd for what he did to quarry. Franklin was landing shots at will on le and cung was lucky to land the shot as flush as he did. harsh KO though.
I dont mind franklin headlining fights as long as they are free.
