If they strike a deal tonight, I'm calling shenanigans on this pool.
Hey I'll just be happy I picked the day the two sides stepped away from the launch codes and decided to get reasonable.

Check out the pic - notice the recycle logo? This was the drop dead date from the start to save having to trash a full season. No coincidence that's when it will get done.
And my next thought is, Why couldn't they have this "excellent start" two months ago so we didn't have to deal with this?
Two months ago the CBA didn't expire and guys where signing contracts like everything was normal. Also the pressure point of actually missing pay is occuring now. But every labor negotiations has to go the name calling before serious negotiating. As the CBA expired in September we got this now instead of the summer.
Inthink it not expiring in June cost at least 2 weeks of serious negotiating because you would have the pressure point of a bunch of guys not having contracts

Someone on here told me months ago that it's good that the CBA expires in September, because in June/July we wouldn't have long enough for free agent signing period or something. Hopefully now they see what it's like when the CBA expires the week training camp is supposed to start.

Ya, I think you've got something there. Hopefully they are more sensible about the expiry date in this CBA, so we don't have to deal with this again next time.
I just want the season to begin so that we will have Marty for 2 MORE YEARS....this is basically his last contract both as a Devil and as an NHL Player, IMO. I do NOT want this 2-year "Farewell Tour" be reduced to one.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, if the season did get canceled, I wouldn't have an issue with 1 year being notched off of Bryzgalov's contract.
I think Bryz might have a bounceback year. Maybe closer to what he was in Phoenix, than what he was last year with the Flyers. It would be nothing new to us cause he had absurd stats against us in the regular season! Something like a 980+ save percentage, 2 shutouts, and one goal against in 3.5 games.
It was like if the Flyers started Bob we win. If they started Bryz we probably get shutout!

FYI it's looking pretty grim. In the KHL he's 1-3 with an 88.7 SV%. Of course the KHL's defense generally lacks, but apparently the folks on the Flyers board are saying he gave up some softies. Although I haven't watch the Youtube videos yet.
The real ******** part of this is that July 1 until the CBA ended OWNERS WERE SIGNING MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR LONG TERM CONTRACTS.
If you can't afford them, why keep signing them!?
Both sides are to blame, this ****ing blows.

Because logic has no place here, and everybody was trying to sneak through the craziest contracts they could get away with before they changed the rules.
It's like Mardi Gras. Get all the sinning out before you have to be proper again.

I saw the Kovalchuk hat trick. Someone else from SKA scored that day too. He let out a bad rebound on one.

Like that ******* from Boston? He was very vocal about wanting to lock out, and he okay's signing Lucic, and Seguin to STUPID contracts with STUPID cap hits. $6 million for Lucic? $5.5 for Seguin on his second contract, and he's only been in the league for two years? This isn't some cap floor team like the Isles, or Colorado who give their young guys big money either. What a joke, they can't even become UFA's for years anyway. He was the one who had the biggest mouth, and that we NEEDED a lockout.

Sweet chart, RG. I claimed November 15 though, not October 15.
