Well that wasn't the question. There aren't many people alive who saw every player that's played for the Canadiens over their 100 year+ history. One can see from the effect that a player had on the history, the mark they left as well as their impact on the sport, how effective a player they were in their time.

I've never seen Richard play live but I know he had a profound effect on the team, the city, the league, the culture and the record books to know no other Canadiens player has ever had the same impact even now as he's had.

From the years thy I've been around I'd say the list is pretty close.

Bowman
Lafleur
Robinson
Roy

They're the best I've seen in Habs uniforms I've seen live.

Easy.

It's a tie between Sam Pollock and Scotty Bowman.

Best I've seen

Coach : Pat
Forward : Mats
D-Men : Chris
Goalie : Patrick

I missed the better years of Robinon, but that could technically be him.

All-time?

Coach : Scotty
Forward : Maurice
D-Men : Doug
Goalie : Patrick

I did not to mean put you on the spot, I just wanted to know the same of the players you had seen. Many posts ahead of us were just kidding around and I thought the question was to good to let die, so I asked a serious responder a leading question to help grow the thread.

No harm.

Hard to say because Maurice never won the Art Ross trophy. I'll give him the first place for all his other accomplishments

1. Maurice Richard
2. Jean Beliveau
3. Howie Morenz
4. Guy Lafleur

D : Doug Harvey
G : Jacques Plante
