Hedberg interview in ProHockey magazine

You wouldn`t like the cover (Parise and Suter) so I won`t post it, but here`s the original article and the translation:

Family?
Wife Pernilla and daughters Molly (17), Wilma (14) and Bia (6).

What car do you drive?
In Sweden I drive a Volvo (go figure), in the States I drive a Mercedes, but I came here on a bicycle.

Favorite food?
Swedish (did not specify).

Most hated food?
Liver, or any other organ meat in general.

What was the last book you read?
The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared (Swedish novel).

Favorite music?
Classic rock (did not specify).

Favorite actor?
Matt Damon (kinda expected that one, dunno why).

Who was your hockey idol growing up?
Stefan Lunner (former Leksand goaltender).

What was your first job?
Probably (sth in) the hockey school in Leksand.

Favorite arena?
I like the Bell Center in Montreal.

Dream job after you hang up your skates?
I`d like to work in a management role.

The most beautiful jerseys?
Leksand...

Blooper you`d like to forget about?
Thankfully I already did (laugh).

What do you think about fans in New Jersey?
Great and knowledgeable, love them.

Your best skill?
Quickness.

What`s the best thing about practicing with Martin Brodeur?
Fun. He`s a very uncomplicated and calm person, we get along really well.

Who`s the best goalie in the NHL?
I gotta say Jonathan Quick, simply because he was outstanding in the Finals against us. Him and Henke Lundqvist are the best right now.

Toughest opponent?
Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

What is your favorite memory from the NHL?
My first NHL game. I was playing for the Penguins at Florida.

Best buddy from the locker room?
Marc Bergevin who I played with in Pittsburgh and Vancouver. Great man.

Best advice for young players?
Do as many sports as you can for as long as you can. There`s no need to go just one route early in your career.

Who`s the best gamer (PC/consoles) in New Jersey?
Unfortunately, it`s Jacob Josefson. I wish I could say I, but he`s really good.

The biggest celebrity you`ve ever met?
Bill Clinton.

Person you`d like to chat with at the dinner table?
Definitely Barack Obama. He seems like a nice and likeable guy and it`d certainly be interesting to talk to him.

Biggest hit you`ve ever taken?
Last season when one of our defensemen hit me to the head with his knee. I really felt that one.

Who are you talking to the most (or have fun with the most - no idea what the reporter meant)?
Swedes, obviously.

Person that meant the world to you?
Niclas Havelid.

Most underrated NHL player?
Tough question, pass.

Best defenseman you ever played with?
Nicklas Lidstrom for Team Sweden.

The biggest adjustment when coming from the SEL to the NHL?
The amount of games.

Will you win the Stanley Cup?
Hopefully during the next two years, here in New Jersey.

For how long will Johan Hedberg continue to play hockey?
My contract in New Jersey expires in two years. What will happen after that? I have no idea.

I`ve said it before that if I`m healthy and able to contribute, I`ll continue playing.

Will you finish your career in Sweden?
I know I said I want to finish my hockey career in the NHL but over the years, I`ve learned not to close back doors. We`ll see.

"I came here on a bicycle." That made me laugh pretty hard.

Whenever he mentioned the two-years on his contract, It makes me ticked that it will become only ONE year if the Lockout ends up cancelling the entire season.

So instead of 2 years of both Marty and Moose, we get their FINAL year(next year).

I think Moose will play longer than 2 years. He's just able to play at such a high level. It's mostly because he's been a career backup, and hasn't accumulated the wear and tear guys like Marty have.
