Time Warner Cable and HD Center Ice/MLB Extra Inners

Hey guys, sorry to post a new thread, I thought we had an all purpose MSG/Center Ice thread but I couldn't find it.

Last year I switched to DirectTV for Center Ice because of TWC's horrible HD policy (only showing 2 HD games a night). Unfortunately now I'm moving out to BK to a building that doesn't allow satellite dishes, and might have to switch back to Cablevision/TWC. I was wondering if in the past year, TWC has added any more HD channels to Center Ice to catch up with Dish/DirectTV?

Did anyone have Center Ice on TWC/Cablevision last year and can tell me if they're still only offering 2 HD channels a night? Because that's ********.

I'm not sure what they have as far as the CI channels, but if you're in New York, Time Warner now has all the MSG channels in HD (including MSG 2 HD) this season, so at the very least you'll get all the Rangers in HD.

Oh good, thanks.

Anyone who has had Center Ice or MLB Extra Innings last year who can chime in about their HD coverage?

I'm pretty sure on TWC, all the games are in HD now. However, you have to look for them. They are not in the 431-455 range. When the season starts, just scroll through the guide (may take a while) and see if you see anything for NHL-1HD, NHL-2HD and so forth.

Cablevision has zero Center Ice games in HD. That's why I stopped getting it.

How about Verizon? Just switched over to FiOS...anyone have the Center Ice package with them...and if so, how many games do they give you a night in HD?

I don't see how anyone can know what the situation is with Center Ice this season since it's currently unavailable.

What good is last season? Cable companies change and add services all the time.

Let's be honest, cable companies are generally pretty crappy and don't improve their services very often...and usually when they do it's only because they need to catch up with their competitors. Bottom line is it's likely fair to assume that whatever they offered last year will remain unchanged for this year.

Yeah. Here in Atlanta if my memory serves correctly (which is a big if), I believe we had access to more than 2 HD games a night but... here is the kicker. Multiple times throughout the season there may have been like 4 games total. Say, Devils V Jackets, Stars V Oilers, Panthers V Lightning, and Rangers V Islanders.

Now not only would those other 3 games have HD, they would have Home AND away feeds. Rangers wouldn't because if I understand correctly, the feeds are done through the cable provider and because I am closer to florida and Dallas than NY, they get two feeds and I get stuck watching the rangers on frikin' barely 480p on the Isles feed.

Hasn't everyone in NYC switched to FiOS already? TWC are crooks with an inferior product.

Sadly, FiOS is still not available in the majority of NYC buildings. It took me several years to get it in mine, and even then I was likely only successful because I know people in the Verizon engineering and corporate office. I just switched over a couple weeks ago. It's definitely better than TWC, and cheaper too. But it's not perfect (can you believe no PIP???) The internet is wicked fast though...getting 84Mb/35Mb right now!

As far as TV sports packages go, DirecTV is the definite leader. Almost every game in HD (for both MLB and NHL) and most have dual feeds as well. Only thing they lack is Canadian teams HD broadcasts, but they started getting better with that last season as well.

You live in NYC and really don't know that the majority of buildings haven't been outfitted with it yet?
