Jussi Trollinen & HF Caniac's Super Awesome Simulated Season Thread
Thought it'd be simpler to keep everything to one thread. Please feel free to offer GM and Coaching advice. Running a team can't be that hard right? Also, I'll try to get a new DVR Recorder asap for video, but until then, I'll only be able to upload stills. In addition to box scores and such not of course.
As I'm sure most of you already know, we beat the Winnipeg Jets last nite 3-2 thanks to a last minute power play goal by Eric Staal.
Next order of Business is we're at the Vancouver Canucks tomorrow.
Our current lineup is:
Jordan Staal(A)//Eric Staal(C)//Jarome Iginla
Alexander Semin//Jussi Jokinen//Jeff Skinner
Tuomo Ruutu//Jerermy Welsh//Chad LaRose
Drayson Bowman//Tim Brent//Patty Dwyer
Tim Gleason(A)//Joni Pitkänen
Jamie McBain//Justin Faulk
Jay Harrison//Joe Corvo
First order of business. Dallas just offered me their 2nd this year for Joe Corvo. Yay or Nay. I'll count the votes at 2am EST (midnite my time) and go from there.
CAR - 2:46 Justin Faulk (Jeremy Welsh, Chad LaRose)
Third Period
-----------
CAR - 4:10 Jordan Staal (Eric Staal, Jarome Iginla)
CAR - 19:51 Alexander Semin (Jeff Skinner) - Empty Net
VAN - 19:58 Jannik Hansen ( Kevin Bieksa, Maxim Lapierre)
I'll put it this way. Which game do you think you have the best chances of getting the 2 out of? If you think that LA is a bit too daunting even with Ward in net then go with Wardo here. If you think he can backstop you to victory, go with Humpy Dawg here.

I think humpy dawg could beat the ducks, and if EVERYONE brings their A game , Ward can beat the Kings.
We've decided to go with Humpy Dawg in net tonite. Cam's had a few games now to get his feet under him, so we decided to give him the extra day to get ready for the defending stanley cup Champion, Sacramento Kings tomorrow.
Gotta be honest, didn't really see this one playing out like it did.

Peters had a couple "adventures" in this game, for sure, and I was honerstly amazed it was 1-0 after the first, but he settled down nicly afterwards. Aside from the fact that it seems no one on this team can win a face off more than 50% of the time I'd say we're looking pretty solid.
We face the 0-3-0 Kings tomorrow.
Also, I cant wait to buy a new recorder, cause my camera sucks and I cant take pics without having weird lines appear on the screen
i look at nhl goal scoring leaders and where do i see iginla?! last page! why are paying jerome iginla 7 million to score 0 goals? send em to the ahl, call up a real HEART AND SOUL guy liek daple or saneguouanitti!!!
Question. If this is be a GM, how the hell did Calgary agree to the Iginla trade?
Dunno, I noticed when I started it back at the end of September that he was on their trading block, and when looking at what I had that they would want, both Tlusty and Dalpe were on it. I threw in a pick to make it sweeter and they were all over it. If anything it might be a slight overpayment on our part.
Anyway, so Ward is back in net for his second big game this week (first was Vancouver). Lineups are unchanged and the team seems to be rolling well. Outside of some faceoff issues that may need to be addressed down the road, I don't think we have any glaring weaknesses.
