I think most people would be pleasantly surprised by the quality of ECHL hockey. Hopefully the bulls stick around.

Not the IHL

The IHL was trying to position itself in between the NHL and the AHL and their salaries were much higher whereas the ECHL is a much less expensive endeavor than the IHL.

I can imagine that travel costs are much lower in the ECHL as well.

Looks like Tam recaled to Worcester via his twitter. We'll need him vs. Portland. If there's one game to get AHL Live for, it's this one. Should be fights galore.

I'm back with @WorcesterSharks tomorrow morning!! #flyingcoasttocoast #livingthedream

I was reading that and thought it looked oddly familiar...that's because that posting usually appears on the WorSharks site

...

I'm not sure if it was my connection or KNBR itself, but the Bulls broadcast was sketchy at best. I ended up switching over the the Reign's feed sometime in the third period... just in time to hear the Bulls blow a huge 4-1 lead.

They eventually lost the first away game in a shootout, giving the Reign their first home win. Bummer.

IMHO getting another NHL organization who thinks well enough of a first year franchise/coach/team to lend a player means there is some good karma.

It happens a lot in the ECHL...it usually comes down to playing time or who holds a player's ECHL rights.

But the Bulls hold no ECHL rights except the guys on their roster (as they are an expansion team).

Playing time -- yep, does help.

That wasn't a specific comment about this transaction...AHL teams don't hold player rights but ECHL ones do, so sometimes players have to go back to a team outside their contractually signed organization and that can cause a chain reaction of open spots elsewhere

No idea on what the return for Barlow is (or if he'll even report).

Preview of tonight's opening of double header in Bakersfield. 7pm game. Usual places (America One - ppv; knbr.com audio).

God. The Bulls' broadcast is pretty much impossible to listen to. Sounds like they are recording on a potato.

Captain Bowers nets one late in the first for his league leading 8th point!

Bulls notched their first (ever) road win.

Apparently the KNBR.com site is now (also) mobile compatible (should you not be near computer).
