His game-intelligence is very high, reminds me of his father who was extremely intelligent, but way too slow for the NHL. This kid is mobile though. A good long-term prospect.
Forsberg is one of Leksand's best players, if not the best. He wouldn't get that ice time in most SEL teams. To be honest Leksand isn't really any worse than the worst SEL teams, biggest difference between SEL and SEL-2 is that the best SEL teams are way better than the best SEL-2 teams, and the worst SEL teams are way better than the worst SEL-2 teams.
The last 3-4 SEL teams and the 4-5 best SEL-2 teams are about the same quality.

I agree with everything but the difference in style of hockey is quite big between the leagues. SEL-2 is a faster and more offense-minded league than the SEL. Young players can concentrate on developing their offensive game there, lack of defensive awareness will only result in very little icetime in the SEL.

I've been reading the Brynas game blogs after the games, but that's a frustrating way to follow a defenseman. So thanks for posting your evaluation.
I have noticed that words like "calm", "patient" and "mature" tend to be used (in the blogs and on twitter) when his play is discussed. Surprising for an 18-yr old defenseman in the SEL.

Seems like a classic sleeper prospect (Djoos) who in his draft year was simply not physically advanced development wise.
5 of Forsberg's 6 goals are power play goals, and 2 of his 4 assists are power play assists. Subtract power play opportunity and he has . . . 3 points.
Kinda interesting but at the same time logical. Interesting because he's on their second PP unit, yet has this PP production. He's pretty deadly around the net. Logical because with all due respect to his linemates, they're not as good as him. Even if he's already an insanely skilled hockey player, he's not there yet to dominate ES play against men on his own. We'll see if he gets a shot on the top line(and some better linemates), I think he will rather soon. He does look spectacular with the puck on his stick however, and I guess that's what really matters at this point. I've watched 5 or 6 of their games so far, and he really stands out with his work ethic combined with finesse.
DiPauli reminds me of Eakin a bit with the speed, consistent work ethic and reading of the play. He's not as much of a sniper but a little sturdier. Nice job crashing the net on the goal. He's in a pretty trustworthy spot playing with Tynan & Rust along with PP/PK time.

Yeah, he was placed on the third line with two other young players. That line worked well last game so the coach kept it but it is not an ideal scoring line. Forsberg was OK this game but it was not one of his better ones. It looks like he has really improved his playmaking this season though, he often makes the right decision when to pass and when to shoot. Anyway, he did not score in this game but he showed some solid dancing skills:

Yes,it was the first game this year when I felt he was invisible the whole game. However, the team changed the lines in the end of the last game and he was now with the other two juniors Jacob De La Rose (born 95) and Fredrik Händemark (93) in the 3rd line, they did great things in the end of the last game but got nothing done today. But well, it was a 6:0 win, i rather see Forsberg doing goals when it matters
