While I do feel Markov's washed up, it still sucks, he used to be my favorite player. And it's just a stupid from him to say that considering there's an agreement between the KHL and the NHL. He will be forced to come back anyways, that is unless the Habs agree to let him go.
Markov has everything to prove, he barely played since about 3 years.. Will we see a dominant A.Markov when the NHL resume or its going to be a tentative player like alot of people think? Personally Im not sure Markov will come close to be the player he used to be, and possibly not our best defenseman anymore, Subban will..
Even if Markov never got injured there would be a good possibility he wouldn't be what he once was - he's 33 after all. The question is, what will he be? Washed up completely? Kaberle 2? 80% of the old Markov? I really have no idea, but the last thing he needed was to give the fans a reason to turn on him.

So is it really safe to say that Markov's washed up? Or does he need a few more games to get back into form. A vintage Markov might have made us deep playoff contenders.

Subban has the POTENTIAL to be our best. To this day, until proven otherwise, Markov is the best d-man eve if he slowed down. Tells you about the rest of the squad.
I want a whole season of Markov feeding PK and company on the power play. After that we can try to pass judgement on Markov's current worth. Until then all we have is white noise.

#Hockey360 à 18h30: Andreï Markov pourrait rester en Russie, même si le lock-out dans la LNH prend fin sous peu. #EntrevueExclusive
You take speculative TWEETS from some second rate wannabe SPORTS journo seriously? Markov has a contract with the Canadiens, and he must honour it. And he will. What a typical 21st century sort of tweet 16 year old useless post. I hate **** like this. God I hate Twitter, the realm of idiots.

How the **** do you 'feel' Markov is washed up? The 13 games last year or what? What crap, honestly. You and I know nothing about Markov. How could we, we have not seen the guy play 20 games straight in 3 years. Why do you post this opinion with no evidence whatsoever?

Relax man, we're all hoping he's not washed up. However, with Markov barely playing the past 3 years and not being able to condition himself, it's not unreasonable to suspect that he's washed up at his age with the amount of injuries he's had.
This is why I ask people who have seen him, does he look washed up, rusty? I would like to know people's opinions.
Stubbs is confirming Markov will be back when the lockout is over.

I'll take that as purely rhetoric that last part.
But isn't it "dumb" rhetoric. A new CBA is signed, he'd better be back no matter what for a couple reasons. He's a member of the NHLPA and the Montreal Canadiens have been extremely fair to him through his injuries IMHO.
Andrei Markov, a guy that has barely played hockey in the last few years, is making a threat to stay in the KHL? Take note Bettman.
Exactly. Markov has a lot more to prove to the NHL than the NHL has to prove to Markov.
You want to quit Markie? Give up? What's new for him. He's been a phantom in any hard hitting game over the past 5 years, opting to lay down on the ground like a dead dog to avoid being involved in playoff hockey. His countrymates likely sing the same tune that his teammates do; pansy.

Before insulting people, just make sure there's not a video proof of it.
Markov said on video, in english, that he won't be back if he doesn't like the new CBA.

He lost a lot of speed, he's weak physically, he's 33 yo. It would be a miracle if he came back in good shape. And he wasn't just half bad last year, he was absolutely awful.
