Poor Hudon, but of course as some posters would say I'm a "nancy" for thinking cheapshotting skilled players adds nothing to hockey...

Just got back from watching Bozon and the Blazers vs the Oil Kings. So here's my game report:

1st period:

I thought he was pretty good. He's a very smart, very skilled player. I don't know if that assist will stick as it did hit an Oil King's stick before making its way to the goal scorer. It doesn't really matter as he really made that play. On the blazer's second goal, he was right beside an open goal mouth had the puck been stopped. It's incredible how open he is able to get.

2nd period:

He didn't play much, and when he did, he was pretty obviously tired. Started playing way back.

3rd period:

Was not implicated in the play at all. Had a couple nice rushes, but you could tell this was the end of the second game in 2 nights, in 2 different cities.

The number one thing for Bozon is that he simply needs to get stronger. He has the skill to be a scoring threat in the NHL. When he has fresh legs, he's very quick, and he's willing to get involved physically. The problem is that he's utterly ineffectual when hitting. I think he technically had like 5 hits tonight, but every time, he just bounced off his check. Needs to get heavier, and stronger.

You didn't see the hit and are labelling it as a "cheap shot" already. Screams Nancy to me. Hockey is a contact sport old girl. Always has been... If you skate around with your head between your knees and get hit, that's not a cheap shot. The rules of the game have always made direct cheap shots illegal, but the soccer moms keep chipping away at the overall physicality and nature of the game. Keep your head up, simple as that...

Also according to the Game Sheet, Verpaelst did NOT receive a penalty in the first period and in a league as butter soft as the QMJHL, you'd have to think the officials would have called a "cheap shot" no?

First period penalties: Penalties-Gagnon Chi (tripping), 2:31; Hudon Chi (boarding), 5:16; Asselin Chi (roughing), 9:51; Girard Bac (roughing), 9:51; Girard Bac (interference of a player or a goaltender), 14:20

I see Hudon boarded someone but nothing else.

But, hitting a guy in the head when he's not looking, that's the epitome of courage and manliness.

I watched the Bozon game, was a fun game to watch overall. Thought he had a solid game (although by the 3rd I was getting really tired so wasn't paying as close attention) He had a couple hits, although he seems to have problems along the boards. Good skating and hands, liked the assist he had.

Also impressed with his linemate J.C. Lipon who stood up for Bozon when he got smoked.

Twitter has got to be one of my favorite innovations ever. On no other platform can you do what is possible on twitter.

I agree (if you're being serious). It's just one more dumb, frivolous and conceited thing people use.

You've obviously never used twitter before. Many people use twitter to either get news quickly OR to spread news quickly. I'm not a fan of social media in general but twitter is fantastic. It's only stupid if you use it to follow/tweet useless celebrities or to tweet about your uninteresting life.

I used to think twitter was a joke but then I realized how valuable it is at getting news and commentary immediately.

That describes everything that is not eating, sleeping and reproducing. Twitter can be used in many different ways. A teenager annoucing to the world his envy of Beibers success with the ladies is merely one of those ways. If you are a business or a content provider, it can be an invaluable tool for reaching your customers or your audience. Twitter is a tool and like all tools, its effectiveness is in the hands of the wielder. The same pen can be used to write a terrible knock-knock joke or a life saving CPR manual. Where you see limitations, others see opportunity.

I don't even have a cell phone. If someone wants to talk to me they have to come find me. If there's something important I need to know for school my professor will either tell me in class or send me an email. If something happens in hockey I'll wait for the news to break and read it in the paper. I like it that way.

It makes things better I tell you.

That may be the way that YOU like it, nothing wrong with that. I'd nitpick you a bit though and say that you can't get on your high-horse and pretend to be some old-fashioned dude who's independent from "useless technology"... on an internet forum..
