#1 Montreal does not need Wisniewski instead of Kaberle. This is going from bad to worst. 2 Dmen that don't have any defence in them for a high price tag, no thanks.
#2 San Jose won't trade Couture and their fans don't want Bourque.
Columbus may probably do that. JJ could cover for losing Wiz, especially if they were to get Eller and Borque in return, and they'd probably ask for Weber over Kaberle. If so, Columbus is really fleecing Montreal on the deal.
As for the other one, Sharks say no. Couture is not on the table, especially for that level of return, and Montreal fans would not like to hear the starting price. They can have Frazer for a 4th or something like that.
I'd do the first one. Many mtl fans won't be happy of getting rid of Eller, but Wiz is better than Kabs and he had some good chemistry with P.K on the PP. Dubinsky would take Eller spot which is good.

What ?
I'll take the Wiz over Kaberle every day of the week.
Why would Columbus want to do this? Wiz looked very good next to Jack Johnson when they were paired at the end of last season and Dubinsky is a key return in the Nash trade. I see no benefit to the Jackets in this proposal.
I wouldn't take any of them on my team even if they were the last available dmen on the market. It's like arguing whether mud tastes better than dirt.
Unfortunately we're stuck with Kaber and Wiz makes more cash than him, so again .. no thank you. Bad proposal.
I'm not saying I'd do the deal, but if I had an option between Wiz and Kabs; it's Wiz. All Kaberle can do is move the puck tremendously well. That's it. He's ****ing useless everywhere else. At least Wiz adds toughness, speed a wicked shot, physicality and a nice pass here and there himself. Wiz is paid more at this point because he's far more useful.

Fair enough. (I was exaggerating a bit)
I'd rather acquire a less specialist kind of defence man, more rounded than Wiz and for a much smaller cap hit.
If the Sharks wanted to trade Couture, it'd be in a package for a better young player. Montreal's poor finish was a fluke, and I'm convinced that their first would be between 10 and 15, which doesn't make me want to trade Couture. Plus, we have a similar player to Plekanec in Pavelski, who's less expensive and younger. Bourque is a cap dump.
It's not horrible value, but it just doesn't at all fit the Sharks needs.
If you know the Sharks at all, we're pretty stacked with top 6 centers so we don't need Pleks. And you would also know that Couture is basically untouchable.
Yea it doesn't work for Columbus. Just got Dubinsky, and sure as hell don't want to replace him with Bourque. Or Wiz with Kaberle for that matter. Eller is good, not great, and Columbus already has enough solid NHL forwards.

Eller would be in contention for your first Center spot. Don't underestimate him. He need's more ice-time and better teamates..(And some finish...But that will come.)

Even if he would be in contention, he would lose outright to Dubinsky, and lose to Brassard and Johansen based on current ability or potential.
This talk of Eller being a potential first liner on Columbus is coming out of ignorance. I see enough of Eller on RDS broadcasts, he isn't THAT good.

Thank you for making me laugh!!!!! If Eller plays on your first 2 lines, you are in big trouble. His hockey sense is bellow average.
