NHLPA has shown they're willing to negotiate and work to get a deal.
The NHL has rejected every offer the NHLPA has made because it wasn't their own. But then gone out and said that they're the only ones willing to compromise and negotiate.
Don't see how saying that is a stretch at the moment.
For what it's worth, the owners did propose an even split.
Not that an even split would magically make everything work, but it has been the most "fair" proposal.
It's my understanding the 3rd proposal makes the most sense, but it can't possibly end up a legitimate 50/50 split if the contracts are honored.
