I don't think Anselmi has a role with TFC anymore, didn't he get promoted?

This season was one constant kick to the balls after another.

And Canada pulling a TFC today... Slightly suicidal.

Games like that are the reason most Canadians still choose to only root for their "homeland".

Wow! Anyone see how much TFC is cutting back their season ticket prices? Everything is going back to Year #1 in terms of pricing:

http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2012/10...r-expectations

http://tfc.mlserenewal.com/

End Zone goes from $19 per game (this year, down to $10 per game)

Wow. This is ****ing great news... or sad news?

Great in the fact that they unbelievably cut the pirces back that much.. but sad that the only reason they did it was because people aren't going to the games anymore.

I don't know what to think.

The Star with an article detailing the dysfunction under Winter (no surprise) and more concerning, speculation that the MLS meddled with the team's player acquisitions:

Quote:
On July 13, the team shed its second-biggest contract by trading de Guzman to Dallas. The door was open.

Recently released from a contract in Greece and now retired from international football, the Swede was more interested in a new cultural experience for his young family than a bidding war. Though he had several European offers, Toronto caught Mellberg’s fancy.

He visited the city, where he was presented with a personalized Toronto FC jersey. A deal was worked out in principle — $3 million over two years. That number represented a significant savings on the $1.9 million paid annually to de Guzman.

Everyone in the team loved the move — acquiring a vastly experienced player capable of plugging that spot at the back where TFC wins went to die. They felt it was good value for money on a short-term contract that could bridge them through a rebuilding phase.

Given the cachet of Mellberg’s name, no one anticipated a problem getting approval from the league. They were stunned when the deal hit a wall at the MLS head office in New York.

That's really interesting. If it's true that TFC was willing to pay DeRo, that changes my whole outlook on both the club and DeRo.

I can't believe MLS meddles like that. I love the example used by that insider. "If you come and ask me if I think Kansas should sign Wayne Rooney, what do you think I'm going to say?"

****ing ********. MLSE can easily handle DP contracts. Stopping them for the "betterment" of the league is a ********* excuse.

That's BS that in almost every pro sports league, Toronto and its fans set the standard regardless of how ****** the product on the field/court/ice is, yet continually get shafted by the various leagues.

Wow...that is very corrupt. This should be international news.

All the more reason to start a Canadian Pro league.

Wow, I knew about the Mellberg move (NBCSN asked Garber about it during the ASG and he got really pissed off) but I had no idea about De Rosario, and that move killed a lot of goodwill with the fans too

Who do u think TFC will try to get this offseason or let go of after this past 2-1 loss to Columbus. I feel like it's going to be a busy offseason for Mariner.

As long as LA or New York doesn't want them first. The league has to make sure they get the best. The MLS, after all, knows what's best for Toronto, their fans and management. If more people cared about the MLS, more people would know about that crazy rule. The fact that people who follow this joke of a league didn't know about this really says something.

The truth is TFC had every reason in the world to make big changes last year because of the Champions League and did not do much. It is hard to make big changes when you have 3 DP's already I guess. I am pretty sure Hassil has an option and we will probably not pick it up so we have one open DP spot. Hopefully we find a way to pick up a good defender to play the role that Mellberg would have had. We have to replace players like Dunfield. I liked the pick-up when we made it but he is not good for this level. He makes terrible decisions which that penalty he gave up today as a perfect example.

Dunfield has been one of the few guys who's showed up after July.

TFC should buy out Frings, decline the option on Hassli and get younger over the offseason. No reason they can't get younger and better.

I will admit I have not watched more than 5 minutes of TFC in the past year and a half. That play by Dunfield was something I would not make in high school let alone what I would expect out of a pro.

I am basing his overall play more on what other people say so I will take your word for it. It does not mean anything though to be one of the few good players when the team is going in winless in 14 games.

I think we should draft Eriq Zavaleta this superdraft. Big striker. An area we need some help with.
Who do you think we should draft?

Well, can't really pan this move. The guy clearly qualifies for the job and is a 4 time champ.

Sign Scolari as the manager. What do you think? Don't say we can't afford him.

Would he really want to come manage in Canada though?
