I don't think his stats were way better than Kinkaid if I recall correct. They were better, but not too much better.
What if Wedgewood could post better stats? Wedgewood has the best chance of being an NHL Devils goaltender out of anyone we have right now. He might not even have a future though. We can't say for sure. We're definitely gonna have a stop gap when Marty or Moose retire. If Frazee stays around Wedgewood won't get a full time AHL job until 2014 cause that's when Frazee is a UFA.
There would need to be an injury to Kinkaid or Frazee, or to Marty or Moose which would allow one of the Albany goaltenders to come up to backup for the NHL Devils. Unless Kinkaid, or Frazee stink up the joint something fierce, I don't see Wedge taking a job up there.
I will watch that while I watch the Albany game, hopefully the Minnesota/Michigan Tech game starts at like 8 though.
Looks like it starts at 7pm EST. I'll probably catch the replay afterwards. Live showing is on Fox College Sports Atlantic, replay (for some reason) is on Fox College Sports Pacific. Looks like they'll replay the game early tomorrow afternoon as well.
No problem. Looks like he's gonna miss some time, but I don't think it was too severe. Was it 6 weeks maybe? Or am I thinking of someone else?
Also Zippy LOL at Corrente. Was he really a healthy scratch? Corrente is another example of ''Why do we need to tender RFA's a contract who are going nowhere being with us?'' Even if he's good enough to play somewhere, he's way down the depth charts here. I would assume he'd be in the lineup if Gelinas is out, opening up a spot for him.

And yeah it was Zalewski thanks!
Albany times union has an online blog.
Currents will probably play over Kelly, he was shaky. The other guys played well.
Clermont has a very steep uphill battle to stay in the organization long term
He just turned pro last season, I don't think they're going to throw him out on his ass that soon. But he does need to improve to be considered for advancement, that's for sure.
Jeff Frazee had an 870 save percentage tonight. Think he's gone with one more game like tonight?
I didn't see the first goal. The two I saw he didn't really have a chance on. The post hit by the Devils, and their PK was the difference in that game. Syracuse hit a post too I think. Only there's actually went into the net. The Devils post hit did not.

I had Clermont > Wedgewood until the WJHC where Wedgewood's puck handling was put on display at the highest level. Calm as Marty. Clermont was absolutely unreal in the Q playoffs. Two goalies that elevate their games for the big show. Could be a good 1-2 (wedge-clermont) punch in a few years if all goes according to plan. (which it won't but I can dream)
Wedge has done well in the OHL playoffs too, I remember it was either last year or the year before that he very impressively stole a series against Kitchener. Definitely raises his game for the biggest stage.
And yes, I love his puck handling skills. He is the most natural successor to Marty in that regard.
