St. Blues - Toronto

St. Blues:
Mikhail Grabovski
2014 3rd round pick.

Toronto:
Max Gardiner
2013 1st round pick.

giving this a shot. I barely propose trades.

Edit: Replaced Clarke Macarthur with Mikhail Grabovski.

Ummm... what? They Blues have about 11 wingers for next season, it is the one position we have no interest at all in.

First, I don't think Macarthur is worth a first, secondly, St. Louis has absolutely no room for him on the wing. There is no reason at all to acquire him. Especially for a first in a supposed deep draft.

Just wondering who is Max Gardiner, when did the Blues draft him and what position does he play? I honestly don't ever remember reading about him or hearing his name.

I like Grabo but it wouldnt make sense for us to spend the assets to acquire him or his contract.

I don't think McArthur in any shape or form ever net a 1st round pick. Also, i highly doubt Grabovski gets traded after signing that big contract in the offseason. Perhaps Bozak?

He's Jake Gardiner's younger brother, he's a playmaking center who is more of a long term project from what I can recall. A third round pick from the 2009? or 2010?

Well according to rumours and what not he apparently was going to get us a low first rounder. I am basing it on that really. I don't want to part with Gravboski as he is our heart guy who puts it on the ice day in and out however I am gauging what the blues want and also how and who is in the favour for the organization really. I know I shouldn't put much merit but still it's good to know.

I would like to trade Bozak but I am not sure what the return would be from you guys.

I'd personally like a guy like Lagennbrunner from them or a prospect such as Ian Cole. Those's are good players we could add. Wouldn't mind polak.

Dont see us moving Polak any time soon. Also Cole wouldnt likely be moved without another dman who can play with Petro coming back.

Thanks for letting me know and wow I can honestly say I had no idea Jake had a younger brother that plays Hockey.

I have a feeling that it will be comparable to the amount of times we had tried to make proposals for Brayden Schenn. Thanks alot OP, you just started a huge amount of STL-TOR threads I bet haha.

Bozak wouldn't get a first either.

Right now, Cole is expected to play for St. Louis and be a partner for Pietrangelo. The Blues absolutely cannot afford to trade away defenseman.

Except's Gardiner's value is very low, so instead of getting angry and upset, there will just be a lot of head scratching.

Grabovski for essentially only a first? Where do I sign up?

Don't worry, if there is, the OP would have to moderate it all.

In regards to the proposed trade. Wouldn't want to give up Grabo for in all likelihood a pick in the bottom half of the draft. At that range of the draft if you get someone of Grabo's caliber you did pretty well.

This is what our lines could be after the trade:

Perron-Backes-Oshie
McDonald-Berglund-Stewart
Steen-Grabovski-Tarasenko

Try and pick out the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line. Every player is capable of playing on any line. No chance Toronto does the OP though, even if Jake demands it to be made.

Trading their best centre for a late first and a mid level prospect would not be in the best interest of the Leafs.

Max Gardiner isn't worth anything. Blues are not likely to sign him, so you could get him for free.

Yeah that OP is horrendous for the Leafs. Would love to have Grabo but we don't have the assets available to make such a trade.

In all honesty, I would not do the trade for Toronto's benefit, you would probably get a nice prospect out of the deal, but you would lose your best center

And from a Blues standpoint, I would not want to get rid of any first round pick for this draft, cause we need centers and left-handed D's and this draft has got a lot of that
