Would have been nice to skate with you once or twice before the season started. There was a point where we could have used another body or two but wasn't sure of your level.

No worries. I played midget house league so I'm nothing fancy. I guess that would make me D level in these adult leagues. I can skate/shoot/pass really well so maybe even higher, because I've heard some people have trouble skating even at that level haha. I have no clue to be honest.

All this greed is making me not wanting to play NHL 13... Luckily we don't have players on the Jets going out making idiotic comments to the media. And if we do, please keep me in blissful ignorance about it.

Btw, since I reinstalled my computer, I can't seem to stay logged in to HFBoards, meaning I have to log in and click the "reply button" on the thread instead of making quick replies. Anyone else experiencing the same problems?

It's pretty cool, I like it. However, I haven't played it in 2 weeks. Breaking Bad and EHM (got re-hooked to it) take up my free gaming time.

Compromise: buy a used copy.

If you want to play online then a used copy will not help as they have the 1 time registry for online play per game.

If only interested in offline, then go for it.

Yeah, that's their way of making money on used game sales. It was about 10 bucks for NHL 12 so I imagine it's around the same for 13.

NHL 13 or Madden 13? Which to purchase. This would normally be a no-brainer but I'm disenchanted with hockey right now.

Madden 13 is pretty damn good this year, at least from a gameplay standpoint. I'm kinda bummed they ditched Franchise mode for this Connected Careers business, but that's more because I like playing 'god mode' with my franchises and controlling multiple teams. If you typically control just one team or enjoy playing a superstar mode with one player, you'll probably love it.

NHL 13 is kinda 'meh' for me right now. I like the new skating engine, but I just don't feel it's that much of an upgrade from 12.

I'm hoping it might give me a better understanding of the intricacies of football. I'm more of a casual football fan. I know the terms nickel and dime defense and so forth, but couldn't really tell you what they are, or which is best in what situation. I know what a post route is, and what a cornerback is, but I couldn't identify a legal formation from an illegal one, etc.

In the same way, the FIFA games actually helped me understand soccer a lot, and now watching actual games doesn't seem as 'boring' to as when I knew nothing about it.

Looks a bit like a combo of Assassins Creed and an FPS - how's the gameplay?

Yeah, I just bought Madden 13 a month ago and it's already helped me. I made a player that is a RB for the Vikings (look at AP ) and it's really fun trying to find the holes in the defence.

I can now watch games live and go "sweet they faked the end around" while my gf looks at me like I'm special. And I know what most of the WR routes look like from playing as a QB and WR. I might start a DB this weekend because I'd like to learn more about defensive setups.

Totally different subject:

Who did the Bandwagon-PO gifs (like I'm still using) for us? I can't remember

I'd like to ask for a new one. What do you guys think about having a lock-out themed avatar series about our prospects? I'd like to have one with Scheifele, Lowry and Kosmachuk in it

Have at it!

Maybe I could make more general prospect avatars like mine if some of you are interested. AHL ones too.
