He's such a good player. He's fantastic offensively, fantastic defensively, he's physical, and he's disciplined. He's an absolute stud.

A better comparison would be Andrei Kostitsyn. (OOOh the haters.) He's solid, he has
good skating ability but he seems to take 5-6 reallly heavy/slow strides before hitting the speed, ala AK... Pretty comparable IMO. But then there's the vision, Erne alot of it.
Comparisons are tricky because everyone sees things different. It's very subjective.

With that said, the reason why I don't like this comparison is consistency. Every time I've watched Carrier he brings a consistent effort, night in and night out, which is something I haven't seen from much of 2013 draft class so far. With Kostitsyn you never know how much effort he's going to put out.

When Kostitsyn is going I guess maybe it's a better comparison.

With Bourque and Pacioretty both injured it appears the Habs depth at LW is really going to show. All the more reason to target Barkov,Drouin,Carrier,Mantha,Burakovsky and the other 6-7 LW's that are being projected as possible 1st round choices in the 2013 draft. It's almost a certainty one or two could end up being Habs with the three 2nd round picks and possibly a couple of centers like Gauthier and Wennberg. If the Habs draft Burakovsky and Wennberg,it could give the Habs an all Swede line with Collberg at RW,Wennberg Center & Burakovsky at LW.Then again if say they draft Drouin or Carrier in the 1st round Mantha & Gauthier in the 2nd round or all in a perfect Hab World the Habs could have a solid French Connection Line.(Dreaming in HD Quattron)That would be a great draft for this Hab fan.

Watching 67's ... That Mark Scheifele kid is amazing.

But on topic, I've liked Monahan so far (I've been watchin since the 3rd only.)
Nice feed on the powerplay

Zach Hall might be someone to look for, never really concentrated on him, but tonight he's lighting it up, well the whole line his.

He's hurt. Stephane Leroux mentionned he wasn't selected because of his injury.

Quebec is missing him offensively. Too bad for him, he was playing very well before going down and was Quebec's best player.

Happy to see that the Habs are taking care of their prospects,Brisebois's arrival in Saskatoon is good news.It speaks volumes about the new management team for the Montreal Canadiens and their approach from the Junior ranks to the AHL to the NHL.This will be noticed by all the players looking forward to playing in the NHL and UFA's alike.

From all the potential first-second round pick, who would you say could end up playing the game like Dustin Brown or Ryan Smith at the NHL level?

Would Erne potentially be that type of player?

Habs need Seth Jones!
Would be epic if Habs could draft him...

Is 2013 Jordan Subban's draft year?

Does anyone have their eye on goalies we could draft? Obviously there's Fucale, but he's ranked pretty high.

Spencer Martin (Mississauga - OHL) could potentially give Fucale a run for his money. He's been virtually unbeatable this year.

Alex Fotinos (Barrie - OHL) could most likely be had in the later rounds. He's stuck behind Mathias Niederberger, so he probably won't get a lot of exposure this year.

Eric Comrie (Tri City - WHL) seems to be off to an incredible start.

That: For goalies, Martin is growing a lot on me (let's see if he's consistent) and Comrie has impressed me from the start but Fucale is still the elite talent for me. I just see a lot of Price in him. Didn't like Fotinos at all but these are few viewings. Will see him soon.

Assuming MacKinnon could be a number center good for 80 ish.
Assuming Jones could be the best Dman in the league 60 point producer and top pair shutdown on any team..

Who do you take? Well wichever one you can...but still.

I am not sure Jones is 60 points regularly, but I agree with you, I would take Jones too. Defencemen like that who are huge, skate very well, can play a mean game, have really good hockey IQ and quality offensive skills just don't come around often.

BTW - London vs Erie about to start on Sportsnet 1. Zadorov, Horvat, Domi and Harper in action among 2013 draftees.

Assuming Jones can be a 60 point producer would be on par with assuming MacKinnon could be good for 100+ regularly. Both are possible and neither are close to something I'd bet on.

I'm torn when it comes to those two, Jones is very, very appealing but being a regular 60 point producer? I just don't see it right now.
