Bobby Ryan was a big guy, Etem is a fast guy there are going to be playing differences.
The problem is that if Etem isn't scoring, he isn't doing anything. At all.

As for Bobby Ryan vs. Etem, Ryan needed to improve his conditioning. That's actually pretty typical of young players, who can often get with their natural talent. That stops at the NHL level, where everyone is talented, but also in NHL shape. Etem is much better conditioned than you'd expect from a player out of the CHL. That isn't an issue for him.

Playing against grown men is different than playing against boys, I would say one of the reasons Vatanen is so good is because he's been doing it for several years. There's an adjustment period, Emerson didn't dominate the WHL right away either he needed some time

Well the stream is still dead so I've been watching some of the OKC Barons game and the ****** has been putting on a clinic so far. Easily the best player so far which includes RNH and Eberle.

The big difference being Etem was bigger, stronger, and faster than most players in the CHL. Simply put, Etem will never be strong enough to do that in the NHL. You'd better hope the coaches in Norfolk disagree with you, because that is not what we want if Etem is going to become a good NHL player.

Edit: As for Vatanen, one of the reasons he is so good is that he never had to rely on being bigger and stronger. In fact, quite the opposite, he's always been smaller, and he always will be.

Exactly. But it's not because he needs to gain more strength, it's because he needs to find the way to play against these grown men that he'll keep playing against for the rest of his pro career.

I didn't think that we'd get lucky with him failing.

Oh, that's not so bad. That's an obvious mistake then. Just a brainfart.

Pretty sure he did that in the first period of game 1 as well. Remember posting about it.

LOL.... The Admirals are giving us a taste of Ducks hockey in that they too can have a lead evaporate in the 3rd.

Unacceptable that this stream hasn't worked since the second period.

Is there a reason why Andersen isn't playing?

I turned off the stream. What happened this time?

Also sounds like Bobkov let in a softy.
