As an aside, looking back to when he was drafted how many truly believed that he would be a Pen for life.
I hoped, strongly hoped, but deep down I was always a bit worried until he finally signed that long term contract. The main board certainly was convinced for the longest time that he would be elsewhere eventually and made no bones about sharing that opinion with us.
We sometimes take for granted how lucky we were in getting this guy, and I am talking far more than just his on the ice skills.

I think actually playing with Mario and not just working for him helped tremendously. He got to see first hand what it meant to be a sports legend in a city like this. The fact that we've had both (and Geno) really just isn't fair to most other teams. We are beyond spoiled.
Difference: I'm not being paid to post words on the internet.
lol
And why is Sid in Dallas. Just saw this tweet from D Roy.
I read Neal and some of his crew bought a bunch of ice time and are bringing in some strength/conditioning coach(es) to have a mini camp like the ones Sid went to in Colorado.
ETA: Neal's "crew" being players he's friends with etc. etc.

And as much as people - myself included- hate him today, we also had Jagr. That's really crazy. We had/have 4 of more or less 7 true superstars of the last 30 years.

Just found some more info on this little mini-camp going on. Thought some may want to have a look.
