Grigs 9/12 on FO today. Great way to bounce back from him in that category.

Edit: Just added a goal (EN though) to make it 4-2 Quebec. He is 1+1 and a +3 on the night.

Grigorenko's pass on Erne's goal was a beauty.

Thought this ranking system from the Russians was pretty interesting. Giving Grigorenko the top rating of 9.0D along with Kirill Kabanov.

I don't know enough about Russian prospects to say if it's terrible or not, but I do notice a few things. Grigs defensive rating of 4 seems too low. Yak and Khok are basically the same size [5'11" 161 vs 5'11" 174], but Khok gets a 6 in size and Yak gets a 3. 13 pounds probably shouldn't be a 3 point difference.

Yakupov gets a 8 in skating while Kabanov gets a 10.. In what world is Kabanov a better skater....

The ratings are probably based on what they saw while he was in Russia, so a 4 would be pretty accurate.
Up until he got to Québec, he was constantly criticized for being MIA in his own zone.

That makes more sense. Good call.

Would make sense. There's no way they're equals now though. Grigorenko's defensive game is leaps and bounds better than it was before he came to NA. Yakupov still has little defensive game to speak of, as far as I can tell.

I thought Grigorenko looked better than Huberdeau yesterday. Huberdeau showed some nice things in the offensive zone but Grigorenko was more solid in his own zone. They were playing against each other and Huberdeau was a -4 while Grigorenko was a +3. I don't see why people say Huberdeau is ready for the NHL for sure. In his 4th season in the QMJHL, he should be able to dominate alone but he doesn't. I remember Couturier at 18, he dominated and could win games by himself. I'm starting to think Huberdeau the 3rd overall pick is a creation of his dominant team. He's going to be a NHL player and a good one, but for a 3rd overall I'm disappointed.

Why is that? I trust the Russians judgement of there own players then anyone else TBH. Also as JF already pointed out this is most likely the rating system applied to these Russians while they were playing in Russia. I find it quite interesting to see Yakupov, Tarasenko, and Kabanov as all top 5 overall prospects in nearly every list. Quite funny to see Grigs have the same or not better rating from these lists. Further proof that him falling was nothing more then "fear the Russians", and him playing with mono.

Because like JB mentioned the rankings are likely from when they played back in Russia which was at least 2 years ago, not to mention that Kabanov is rated better than Yakupov in nearly every stat. Anyone can watch the two and pretty quickly realize that Yakupov is better at pretty much everything.

Cat with 2 assists so far halfway thru, OS up 2-1, and Kea with zeros across the board with Saginaw in control 6-1. Anyone have an update on the Minnesota game and how Isackson did/looked?

He kept his point streak alive with getting his goal putting him at 10 goals 13 assists, 23 pts. I thought the most impressive thing was him going 16/21 from the Faceoff circle. Definitely improving in that category.

I didn't watch the game, but Isackson started the game on Minnesota's top line with Kyle Rau and Nick Bjugstad. He was -1 with an assist and 2 SOG in a 5-3 loss at Michigan Tech. Isackson got stopped in front on a second period PP and his assist came from quick puck movement on a third period PP to make it 5-3.

Another win for Catenacci and first star honors keeping the Owen Sound Attack first overall in the OHL. Cat assisted on the first two goals, was a +3 and displayed great strength and ballance on a number of plays. Once again was also dominant on the draws.

I still cannot believe Grigs fell to you guys (awesome for you guys, just jealous)

A young core of Myers,Hodgson, Ennis, Grigorenko, Girgensons, Foligno, Armia.

Not bad.
Not bad at all.

Are expectations too high when "only" one goal feels almost like a disappointment? haha. Man I hope he pans out, I'm getting too excited for his potential.
