Hasek tore Jim Kelly's (the reporter) shirt off after a game. I don't have any problem with Lehner defending himself.
in a 5-0 game, you can't let the opposing players take liberties like that. If ever there was a time to pick his spot...this was it. Guys WILL remember that bumping Lehner will come along with a knuckle sandwich, and guys will definitely think twice before doing it again.
It's not a 1-1 playoff game here. It's a 5-0 beatdown.
johnny, an NHL player isnt going to be intimidated by the thought of getting beaten down by a goalie. what theyre gonna remember is how often an apparently awesome and difference-making goaltender can be made to snap if you push him.

the trouble is, its happened at least 3 times in the last year with the kid. it is 100% clear to the league that the kid can be goaded into losing his cool. until he fixes that, they will prey on that without mercy.
Nobody enjoys getting the crap beaten out of them. You think Hextall didn't intimidate the opposition? With his reputation, he could get his point across with a look.
There will always be guys that drive the net hard that will pay the price, but there are many that will want no part of it.
Plus this was a cheap shot. Digging for a puck that is covered in a blowout. It was deserved.

Well put. You, sir, are an oasis of intelligence in a desert of idiocy.
