It's confirmed, his ITC has even been signed, sealed and delivered.

Wayne Simmonds and Chris Stewart have declined an extension with 2nd tier German club Crimmitschau, and are expected to sign together somewhere in the Czech Extraleague next week. It was awesome seeing them here, and both really gave their all. But with Crimmitschau's big holes on defense and in goal it's probably better to spend the money differently now.

He already played a few days ago, no points - just like Kane (after 5 games)

So those roster rules don't apply to non Russian teams? Because if my math is correct, they have 3 NHL players signed, all three aren't even Belrusian.

Today there are well over a 150 different IFK clubs that compete in the most various sports. A single club can also have many different sections. IFK Göteborg, for example, competes, in both, orienteering, bowling, cross-country skiing, football, and a number of other sports.

I'm actually really pumped to see these photos of Ovechkin. He's looking like he really committed to a diet and training this off-season. Last I checked he was PPG in the KHL so that's pretty decent.

Also, at the chaos from Backstrom taking #99.

Wojtek Wolski already played two games for Sanok in the PLH (Polska Liga Hokejowa - Polish Hockey League) without scoring any points.
I've seen some interviews with him and was a bit surprised by the fact he talks Polish and says he was always proud being a Pole and also feels like one.
Never heard anything like that before.

At this point it's not at all surprising that Swedes with big contracts sign in other countries. Teams cant afford it, there is still the legal debate(sigh) and many teams are still keeping their word (sort of) and not wanting to sign players unless it's longterm.

Well... An owl.. on top of an octopus on top of two girls.. I have no idea what it really is. The picture is the cover from the band Kvelertaks (favorite album of the last two years) first release. It's painted by John Dyer Baizley (singer and guitarist) of band Baroness. He's made cover art for lots of bands for instance Kylesa, Flight of The Conchords, Black Tusk and his own band Baroness among others. His art is always like this..

His contract is not a lockout contract so even if they cancel the lockout he will stay in Finland. He has a NHL-clause though so if some NHL-team offers him a contract and Eric accepts it he is allowed to return to North America.

I love that a) EHC stated that Kane was the replacement for the injured Ahren Spylo, and b) that they did a scouting report, in which the twice acknowleged his reputation as a party guy
