LaLeggia got one assist in a 5-1 win (first game of the season).

Simpson also got an assist in his first game.

Does he play center a lot? I thought that he was predominantly on wing.
Juhjar is #7, and yeah he does play center the most out there.

Thanks for the Khaira updates. We really appreciate updates.

He's a prospect that we don't really know much about. He played in the BCHL, which none of us Albertans follow at all, and then he went to the NCAA.

If there's one thing the Oilers need more of, it's big centres. Go Tech!

THe Pioneers archive their games:

http://www.denverpioneers.com/club/s...SPORT_ID=10862

If anyone wants to see Laleggia in action I would say it is worth taking a look. I watched the exhibition game with UBC and was quite impressed with the kid.

(NOTE: The UBC game was free. It looks like if you want to watch the archived games you have to pay!!)

Likewise. Not bad for a Hockey Night In Canada that actually isn't. I've got the Marlies and Bulldogs game in the background on Sportsnet till the Uni game later. Nice little fix to keep the shakes away for now.

Rixy is improved definitely from last season, has 3 goals in 4 games this year. He is showing flashes of being a scorer which is awesome to see.

And as for updates on Khaira, didn't have as good as a game as he did last night. When he gets up to speed on the college pace, he will be a big force out there. He did also absolutely destroy Seth Ambroz today which I thoroughly enjoyed.

2g +2 for Rieder tonight.

That's 5pts in last 2 games.

Ambroz is a pretty big boy IIRC. How is Khaira's skating?

Marathon of Hockey for me today

Khaira - Huge center. Skating is about average. Throws some huge hits. Probably would love to drop the gloves if I can read lips properly. Time will tell if he ends up being a real NHL prospect or not. At worst he is guy who plays in the minors for us. At best a very big effective 2 way center who hits

Moroz - Playing so much better lately. This is the guy we drafted. Just a menancing presence on the ice. Got another goal today. I think he is found his niche in the league and it is that swaggering a s s hole that you love on your team and everyone else hates.

Yes Ambros is a big boy. Maybe not as tall as Khaira, but all there.

Khaira sometimes looks a little awkward to me but gets the job done. I think Joe said he was above average and I'd agree with that. But he is lanky so it looks like he needs to catch up to his size.

One thing this kids likes to do is to finish his checks! While I like the pace of the college games I see, I do wonder if he might not be more suited to the CHL.

In any case, he looks like an interesting prospect to follow.

Two nice goals for Rieder last night. The first was also short handed. He is now back into the lead in scoring for the Rangers.

He is now playing on what is the Ranger's second line or maybe 1b line with Matia Marcantuoni and Ben Thomson (who he played with a fair bit last year). I think Spott did this to spread the offense around and so far it has worked.

Marcantuoni is very fast and is now starting to get his offensive game in gear. He has decent size as well so with the 6'4" Thomson in tow this is a line that is tough to play against.

Rieder with another great night.
1g 2a even. All 3 points were on the pp. gooilgo mentioned he had 5 points in his last 2 games prior to this.
So this puts him at 8 points in his last 3 games.

Yep, seems normal service has resumed after a slow start for Rieder.

I know that Rieder has been ripping it up for the past couple of seasons (this one and the last). Who does he play like and what is his ceiling for potential?

I've read around here, and with online comparisons that he plays something like Eberle, but is extremely conscious of his own zone.
