It's pissing me off so much right now that I can't watch this game. I really want to see these prospects play. I find it idiotic that Root or the CW can't get something worked out with WBS to put these games on TV.

Sill to miss 5-6 weeks with an upper-body injury according to Bombulie. That's not good news, the Baby Pens need all the toughness they can get into this lineup

Uher is a guy they can look to if they want to replace some of his physicality.

I'd say the Baby Pens most of all need to finally score some goals. They lost the first 3 games while scoring only 5 goals, despite outshooting their opponents 103-74. Special teams aren't looking too pretty right now, and they take too many penalties. Most of that should get better over time, as they have an almost all new forward group.

That's true. They can always insert MacIntyre into the lineup once he's ready as well . Still, losing Sill this early and for that long isn't good to see especially with the slow start the team is having.

are the WBS pens ever going to win a game? is it time to trade away all the good players and Stop Winnin for Mackinnon?

That's how the draft works if the lockout lasts for the season, right? it's based off AHL standings?

People should have saw the team struggling. If the young guys are getting top minutes, I don't know they are, but if they are the team is going to struggle.

No matter how talented some of them are, going from Juniors or college to the pro level is a big step. The AHL is there for the adjustment period.

I'd rather see Tanger and Bennett get on the board in a loss than Ferriero and Dupuis in a win, ya know?

That said, winning should still be a priority and they're loaded so it should come in time.

I don't think the young guys are the issue, the reliable vets haven't been very reliable. It's the guys that have been around for a while that are making bad decisions with the puck and taking awful penalties, and it's costing them games.

Their PK has been awesome but their PP is struggling. They haven't been using Despres on the PP which seems odd. When he gets called up to the big club he's on the second PP. There are a lot of new players so it may take a while for it to click. I believe they started off last season 1 & 4 and had a pretty good year. I see they rookies straying away from the system which is normal for kids coming from juniors. The Pro game is much more systematic and relies on every player to be on the same page. If you have too many guys freelancing it won't work.

I think AHL live has that feature. That costs money tho.

I don't understand why John Hynes refuses to play Steve MacIntyre. I know he's a terrible hockey player but he brings a physical game. He'll protect our rookies/key players, I don't want to see Eric Tangradi getting into a fight.

Well, MacIntyre hasn't been in game shape apparently since he missed camp and all. Secondly, which prospect do you propose scratching to play MacIntyre?

They definitely could have won last night, but a lot of it was simply bad luck and Poulin being really good. I was torn about how to act because the Islanders are my usual NHL favorite, but I also have a major soft spot for the Penguins and WBS is sort of my temporary hometown team. It was really cool getting to see a chunk of the regular Islanders roster up close.

There was a kid a couple rows in front of me wearing a Sound Tigers jersey. It seems so weird that a kid from this area would choose them for his favorite minor league hockey team. It would be totally understandable at the NHL level, but I don't know, it's weird.

Also the names on fans' jerseys here is basically like a list of disappointing Pens prospects and just random dudes. The Bridgeport kid's dad or whatever had a Nate Guenin jersey. The dude only played 41 games for WBS! I wonder if all these people won them at raffles or other contests. It's a good crowd, though. My section seems pretty reserved (me included), but the rest of the building makes a good amount of noise.

Hoping to see a win tonight, but Syracuse is basically last year's Norfolk team.

Looks likes some bad goaltending & bad defense. Maybe they are developing them for the big club.

This is a very young WBS team. There's going to be some growing pains.
