Of course it's way early, but any word on Blum so far?
From the Admirals Roundtable recap:
Quote:
The Griffins opened the scoring 9:49 into the game while Michael Latta was serving an interference penalty. The penalty kill was moving along very well, with a couple of quick clears. But one attempted clear by Blum was kept in at the point. About 20 seconds later, Joakim Andersson stuffed it home after Smitty made a couple of saves from in close.
With the Admirals on a power play in the 2nd period, the puck wasn’t held in by Blum at the blue line, and Landon Ferraro scooped up the puck. He went in all alone and was able to beat Smitty for the shorthanded goal at 15:31 of the second.
Let me be clear — I am not dumping on Jon Blum’s game. He played very well over the course of the game, and assisted on one of Cehlin’s goals. So don’t let the fact that he was on the ice for both Griffin goals detract from the fact that he was good tonight. Okay? Okay.
Still early but I'd like to know how Järvinen is doing there? I was very impressed that he dropped gloves in the preseason against Wade Brookbank. Imo Joonas has all the tools to become a regular NHLer: number 5-6 dman. He can play physical plus has some skills too.
Lemme know how COR looks. More so positioning than putting up points. Cheers!
This and Zoltan Hetenyi (if he's playing). Said it before, I'll say it again: I really think Hetenyi has a shot at the NHL. He blew me away at prospect camp.
Z is too quick to go low and slow to get up. COR and Aronson are a pairing I think. They are both +2 in 3 games
You could be right. At camp, his style reminded me alot of another late bloomer: Tim Thomas. Crazy aggressive. If any can fix his faults, it's Mitch Korn. Time will tell.
1st or over. COR-Aronson 1st d-man pairing for ice time other than Aronson's bite they look very good. Reid looks semi-dispassionate. ABM is big PF 4th liner w/ good forechecking
Ok game over, 3-2 Clones. COR-Aronson with a lot of ice time, I'd say 25+ minutes. COR with about 2 or 3 minutes more.
if I was to say anything, COR looks like the Suter of the pair, playing defensively, always in position. You could see Aronson was looking for the big hit. Other big defenseman of the team was a guy by the name of Josh McFadden, Undrafted.
Cam Reid had a lot of ice time but mostly on special teams and no defensive faceoffs as a center, he was on RW for those times. 3rd line time would be 2nd line maybe 1st line without a lockout.
Zoltan did not start but looked stiff and slow to rise from his knees. Which is on because he looked like a great skater standing up. leg strength is his weakness, he might have been relying on his size to cover for his slowness to rise up.
ABM bounced between D and W, Power forward.
Elmira is a damn good team, They were undefeated till today. Foster, in net for the Clones, was good.
