2nd most impactful Sens player (modern era)

I think we can all agree that Alfie has had a bigger impact on the team than any other player, but who would you say is 2nd (not 2nd best, but 2nd biggest impact on the team)

I think it's an embarrassment that you didn't list Redden there, unless you just forgot him.

Who the hell is Neal?

Anyway, I'd go with Spezza.

Hossa, we filipped him for Heater which let us become an absolutely elite team with a finals berth for a 3-4 year period.

Meh.

He'd be below all the other guys I've listed.

It's a tough call.

I voted Heatley for some reason, but there's no real right answer.

He wasn't around that long, but he put up 100 points and 50 goals and helped put Ottawa on the map in terms of the Pizza line.

I guess Spezza is a good candidate for the same reason. Maybe should have gone with him.

Heatley's dispute was a lot like Yashin's as well, and Alexei was our first real Hart candidate.

Oh well, it'll be Karlsson before long anyway.

If I were to rank the next 5, it'd look like this:

1. Alife
--------
2. Spezza
3. Hossa
4. Heatley
5. Phillips
6. Redden

It all depends on what you determine is being impactful.

EDIT: For whatever reason, I forgot EK. Derp. Insert him between Spezza and Hossa.

It's Spezza fairly easily, in my opinion. He was our best center during our glory years and is still with the club.

Yashin.

Closest any player on the Sens has ever gotten to the Hart.

Karlsson. No one in Sens history can match his hardware.

Karlsson is the most accomplished and most exciting Senator to touch the ice, already.

So.. Alfredsson first without a doubt and second I'd have to go with Spezza because he has filled in the second most important position in hockey and been top 5/10 at it for the past what? 7 years? And this year he could have easily been a candidate for Hart trophy finalist on a team that was supposed to finish LAST. After that it's Karlsson, easily.

I think I had Alfie, Spezza, Martin and Redden on my Mount Puckmore. Still going with those guys.

Quite a few of our star players weren't actually here (or peaking here) for very long.

Spezza for sure. He's already passed Yashin in most statistical categories and is a better performer in the playoffs.

1. Alfredsson
2. Spezza
3. Yashin
4. Karlsson
5. Hossa

Karlsson is the best defenseman in the league. Automatically a bigger impact.

Yashin had the biggest impact. His crappy leadership led to Alfy being named captain.
Yashin's trade lead to two key pieces, Spezza and Chara.
